As days went past, Zac got paler, and paler. As did Nick. Jenny and I tried to keep Zac in bed to rest, but reluctantly he would always get up and try to help.
Soon after Zac gave up and finally admitted that he had caught whatever I had had. The doctor came and gave Nick and Zac the same prescription. Nick began to feel better quickly. Unlike Zac.
Zac took about a week to start feeling okay again. But today Jenny and I let him walk around, get some fresh air.
Zac begins to get his voice back. He starts to play the guitar again. He starts to play a song I'm not familiar with.
"Come on Zac! Please!" Jenny whines.
Zac chuckles, "Alright, calm down."
"Before it has begun, and we've already won. We are wild! We are like-"
But Kevin cut him off, "Boxed potatoes!"
And there is a pause... Then we all start laughing.
"What's your deal with boxed potatoes, man? Don't they normally come in bags anyway?" Zac laughs. My face is turning red and my legs are weak from laughter. I drop to my knees, I don't think much of it because Jenny and Nick are already rolling on the floor.
Zac is clutching the guitar, I can tell he's fighting hard not to fall off the stool with the guitar still around his neck.
I, clearly being the strongest and most sensible at the moment, decide to solve the problem before it's a problem. I struggle to me feet and gently lift the guitar from Zac and putting it back on the stand.
And with that, Kevin sees an opportunity, as he's laughing, Kevin ever so slightly tips the stool, sending Zac off the stool and onto the ground.
My legs give out, and I collapse in laughter. Nick drags himself off the ground, and Kevin is the only one left standing. Nick walks over to Jenny likes he's king, and plants a foot on her chest.
"I have concurred the great Cooking Beast!" Nick called out.
"Quick! Grab her!" Kevin yells to Nick, who grabs Jenny's feet and Kevin grabs Jenny's hands.
Together, they swing Jenny from side to side, with each swing getting higher. Jenny's hysterical screaming laugh fills the room.
"Ack!" I shriek, a swinging Jenny almost hit me. I decide laying flat on my back will likely be the safest position to avoid getting hit by a squealing Jenny.
I soon realize my fatal flaw, "Don't you da-" but I'm not fast enough.
"Zac! Quickly!" Nick yells. With perfect precision, Kevin and Nick release Jenny at the same moment, causing her to land perfectly on the couch. Clearly they've done this before. Many times before.
My legs disabled from laughter, I attempt to army crawl to the other side of the couch.
Just. A. Little. Further. Come. On.
Much against Nick's orders, Zac continues laying on the floor, incapable to stop laughing.
Nick and Kevin run to the other side of the couch, "Thanks Zac," Kevin says with sarcasm.
Nick grabs my forearms and I clutch his for extra security, as Kevin grabs my ankles.
"NOOO!" I call out in fake defeat. Jenny pokes her head above the couch just enough so she can see what's going on. All I can see are her dark chocolate eyes. She's adorable.
The brothers carry me belly up around to the other side of the couch, and Jenny scrambles out of the way.
"K, Lizzie? We're gonna fling you on to the couch like we did with Jenny. Let go as soon as we say 3. Okay?" Nick says quietly, I appreciate Nick telling me what to do so I don't get hurt. Or... Have less of a chance of getting hurt.
"1...2...3!" I let go of Nick, as they let go at the same time, I fly through the air for what seems like ages. I plop down flawlessly on there (very comfy) couch.
Both Nick and Kevin strike a heroic pose, "This is the part were you all clap while we stare at the ceiling like the movie stars do." Kevin says all through his teeth.
Zac, Jenny and I all burst into applause. Jenny shakes her head, with a smile plastered on her face.
I shoot Zac a crazy glance that says: "You've got crazy friends."
And he gives me a look that says: "I know. Not like yours are much better."
"Alright Jenny! I think this deserves some Tang!" Nick hints.
"Please?" Jenny reminds him.
"Please?" Nick adds.
Jenny smiles, seemingly getting satisfaction from getting her eldest brother to say please.
"Wait- what's Tang?" I ask. Like- the fish? Like a yellow tang or a blue tang?
Zac buries his head in his hands, "Did you have to ask?"
Jenny sees what is about to happen before I do and quickly intervenes, "Tang is a drink were you put orange powder and mix it into water and it makes an orange drink."
"We all really like it," Jenny adds seeing Kevin's and Nick's excitement.
Zac looks up, "You couldn't have said that when I asked for the first time instead of letting them go on about it for 20 minutes?"
"Nope, I thought it would be fun," Jenny smiles.
"Thanks," Zac says, his voice thick with sarcasm. Still yet, he's smiling, so we know he's not actually annoyed.
