A/N: For my friend who was dying for this to come out. Also- I drew that map myself.
"We're idiots." I say, Zac facepalms.
After we left Jenny's place, we looked at the fable again. We noticed how Jenny kept saying first. Over and over again. Zac said something about the first word in every sentence.
No, but he was close. The first word in every line.
The note read: Nobody knows about Leafcrossing. They north rivers Alexandra. Government killing silver owls.
After reading the fable many, many times, we realized 'They' was truly meant to be 'Go' which is the next word. The river Alexandra was 3 hours by plane from Salgrum.
And we don't have a plane.
"I agree," Zac concurs. He ran a hand through his hair. His sea green eyes focused on mine.
"So, how do we get there? Now that we know Alexandra is far over there," I say making a gesture behind us, indicating South.
"Road trip~" Zac sings. I laugh, I don't know how he can be so high spirited when everything we do seems to go wrong in some way or another.
"Wha-?!" I say, startled. We have no car, therefore, no road trip is possible.
"Lizzie," Zac puts a hand on my shoulder, "Terragorra does have subways, you know."
I totally forgot about the national subway system we have going all around the island. How stupid. I act like a blonde, but I'm a brunette.
Terragorra is an island, it's one of the larger ones. Before the Split War, when the land was all one, it all used to be called Tamonia. Tamonia was like a super continent. It was a huge land mass in one mammoth ocean.
During the Split War, countries like Favorta, Terrigorra, Kina, Oceo, and about 13 more, fought in a mammoth war with powerful weapons. This split the world into several islands and more continents. That's why it is called the Split War. Because it split Tamonia.
After Terragorra was split off and the chaos began to settle down, we began to rebuild, as did the rest of the world. A pack was made between all the countries to never fight something like the Split War again.
Part of Terragorra's fame comes from it elaborate underground transportation. But Terragorra is so forgotten, it's subways are forgotten with it. Oops.
"How could I forget?!" I mock myself.
"You do have a lot going on right now," Zac reassures me.

The nearest entrance was about a half a mile away. I am so glad I wore my tennis shoes. As we walk down the steps, I smell the damp disgusting air, penetrating my lungs. Gross.
Zac looks at the underground map, "Looks like we have to take Cicrcel Dot to the end of the line, and get off at Carpo."
As we walk, I begin to lead the way. My navigation skills have always been pretty good. As we walk down the tunnels and wait for Cicrcel Dot to come in, I see something brown and scruffy.
There is no one here, it's still early in the morning. I think it's just a dead rat so I don't pay much attention to it. But then it moves.
"Oh my gosh!! ZAC!! ZAC, IT'S MOVING!!!" I scream and jump behind him as the decaying looking rat bears it's teeth and growls at us.
I hold on to Zac's arm, as if it is the only thing keeping me tethered to Earth. I am almost positive he is just as scared as I am of it. The subway car pulls up a few seconds later. We nearly jump into it in terror.
We both run to the other side of the car, and press ourselves against the seats the furtherest away from the demon. It growls again, as the doors shut, keeping everything in the car trapped in its huge stomach, and keeping everything out.
A lady with dark skin gives us a questioning glare, "Can't handle a few rats?" She challenges.
"I-" I begin to apologize, Zac cuts me off. He takes me hand and gave it a squeeze.
"We apologize, we're not inner city folk, like yourself."
"Tch," the stranger snorts, as the mouth of the huge beast opens, she gets up and exits, she turns back and shakes her head in disapproval.
We ride to the end of the line without a word. And get one the Sanatom line and ride to Carpo.
We spent three days hopping subways and riding different lines. We slept on the long subways, and ate some of the food Jenny generously packed us.
