Chapter 2

Kyle and the others looked at me with wide eyes and then he narrowed them, looking back at the school. "Your mate? That son of a bitch actually came here?" Kyle growled. "How dare he show up after what happened to you? He should be dead." Kyle was furious and so was Blaine but not as much.

"You have to come to school, Ky. I need you and besides, you need answers to get closure and Kyle and me and Blaine will be there to back you up." Amy said, batting her green eyes at me. Curse this girl and her baby girl looks. No wonder Blaine is so whipped.

Blaine shrugged. "Um... I may need you guys not to pick fights with the guy because today, a new pack has come to our town and uh... dad said we're creating an alliance with them. I'm supposed to show them around school with Seth (Blaine's best shifter buddy)." he told us.

Kyle grumbled and cursed. "What pack is he from?" Kyle asked, suddenly.

"I heard they moved a lot. They're from the North-Lunar Pack and there are at least 10 pack representatives. The Alpha, Beta and Omega along with their mates and higher ups are here. The young ones are seniors and sophomores and there are only 5 of them." Blaine informed us.

Kyle nodded. "The North-Lunar pack have about 100 plus families in the pack. Damn, we can't make trouble." Kyle said.

Amy looked at me who was still trembling and panicking. A thousand and one scenarios filled my head of what would happen when we meet. "Are you going to be okay, Ky?" she asked me. I shook my head.

"I don't want them anywhere near me. Blaine, tell them to stay away from me, please! I-I-I don't want to see him." I told them all.

Kyle nodded. "I'll keep the creep away from you and Blaine, you gotta tell them to stay away from her." Kyle said. Ames nodded in agreement and Blaine agreed. I sighed, a little relieved but not a lot. I thanked Kyle and the guys and we all hopped back into the car and I silently prayed, he wasn't a student.

The minute we got out of the car, I felt the bond pulling me towards him and I looked around cautiously. I didn't want to bump into him. I grabbed Kyle and Amy from Blaine, earning me a growl from Blaine. "You can have her later! Go tell those North-Lunarans!!" I whispered aloud to Blaine as I shoved him towards Seth, who was chuckling at me and my bros and Amy.

I walked in behind Amy and Kyle who was cautiously looking around like I was doing and started sniffing on the new faces at school, secretly. Amy gave me her jacket and I wore it, hoping my mate wouldn't be able to sniff me out. They stopped in front of my locker and theirs and went to homeroom which we were lucky enough to have altogether. I sat with Kyle in front of me and Amy behind me and I was so~ lucky with having Sam, another shifter, seated next to me too. It seemed like everything was going perfectly until I saw Mr. Colton come in with a group of guys and with their scent, Amy, Kyle and I knew who they were; the North Lunar pack members. There were three guy and two girls but I knew one of them was different, because I felt his eyes gazing on me. My mate was here in my class with me. OH FUCK!!!

Mr. Colton smiled at them and introduced each one of them, I stared at the girls instead of the guys. The brunette with the short hair was Iris and the red-head with long straight hair was Adie which was short for Adeline. Kyle glared at the guys. I glanced up reluctantly and found a guy with black hair and deep brown eyes, his name was Shane and the guy with sandy blonde hair and blue eyes was Tyler but the last one. I knew who he was, my mate. I forced myself to look at him and he was beautiful. He had a golden brown colored hair and deep blue eyes, it was so light. He stared at me with...love (?) in his eyes. He couldn't have loved me. he didn't come for me that day. My heart broke again and I felt the same pain.

'Which one is he? I thought Blaine told them to stay away?!' Kyle asked me telepathically.

'He's the one with the brown hair, I don't know his name...' I told Kyle. I didn't want to look at him. It hurt too much and my wolf was growling and snarling at him. Apparently, after being able to talk to my inner wolf, she seemed the most furious. She swore to kill her mate's wolf for letting me shift alone.

Kyle stared at the guy but with curiosity. 'Ky, uh...I think your mate is the beta of the North Lunar Pack, I recognize him. He's Avery Hunter, the soon-to-be Alpha. Dad is not gonna be happy when we tell this guy off.' Kyle told me.

I nodded and felt the guy, named Avery, walked towards a seat that was right behind Amy's and  I felt his gaze which was like burning fire everywhere he looked. It wasn't the way Amy and Blaine described it, this was painful and almost like torture. I was saved when the bell rang for our class and everyone had left. Avery's friends blocked the door for me and Kyle and Amy. Kyle growled at them. "What do you think you're doing?" Kyle asked, furiously.

Avery sighed. "Sorry, I just wanted to talk to...um...what's your name?" he asked me. I ran behind Kyle and Amy. I didn't want to talk to him and I didn't want to be with him. He may have been my mate but how could he let me suffer when he was supposed to be there for me? I would never forgive him. I saw him look pained and rejected and I knew that face. It was the face I wore everyday last year after my shift. The pain that I felt was excruciating and it hurt even more because of him. "I'm never going to hurt you, I promise." he told me.

I felt all my blood boiling but Kyle burst way before me. "Never going to hurt her? Are you fucking kidding me!?" Kyle said, to himself mostly.

Avery and his friends exchanged looks of confusion and he tried to reach out to me but I flinched back even if Kyle and Amy were in front of me. He had a pained an rejected expression on his face.  "Um, sorry?" Avery said to me, unsure. He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. "Look, we all got off on the wrong foot. My name's Avery, what's yours?" he asked me again. I didn't look him in the eye.

Kyle stepped in and walked towards Avery. "My sister doesn't want to talk to you and I thought my brother made it clear to stay away from us. There's a reason why he told you to." Kyle told him calmly.

Avery looked at me and I looked away. "Tyler. Shane. Girls. Step away from the door, and let them pass." Avery ordered them. Kyle grabbed my books and bag and Amy smiled sheepishly at them. The girls didn't get out of my way.

"Not unless she tells you her name," the brunette named Iris told us. "Fair is fair, right? What's your name?" she asked again. I bit my bottom lip and I heard Avery sigh.

"Iris, just let them pass. Don't make unnecessary trouble." he told her.

Iris stomped her foot and I flinched back a little. "IF SHE TOLD US HER NAME THEN I WOULD LET HER GO TO HER CLASS!! DAMMIT! Just tell him your name." she said to me.

I turned back to look at him and I turned to Kyle. He nodded, probably just wanting to get this all over and done with. "M-My name's...Kylie..." I told him. Iris and her friend, Addie, moved out of my way and I rushed out without a second to spare. Kyle and Amy followed me.

Avery was my mate, the beta to the North-Lunar Pack and I hated him. He intimidated me a little bit but I refused to forgive him. I went through shifter pain only to be double by the pain in my heart because of him. I hate him. I will never forgive him.
