Chapter 5

"Well look what the cat dragged in. Should've known there was a Loki mixed up in all this." B-15 said with a small shake of her head, "What are the chances, the multiverse must be smaller than we thought."

More hunters started pouring out into the lobby, escorting a pair of terrified boys and their distressed mother. Loki had no idea how they had been caught, it was almost unbelievable. For once he was very relieved that there was no magic in the TVA.

"Just to be on the safe side don't try to get those boys temporal aura." Loki informed the minutemen.

Poor Wanda, this was not going to be good for her mental state.

As his gaze followed the procession of hunters he caught sight of Sylvie's face. He reached up and put his hand on her shoulder. "You okay?"

"They're so young." She said, perhaps shaking slightly with anger or trauma.

"I'm more concerned for the mother, or what she might do." Said Loki. "And we'll make sure they're alright, breaking out is our specialty."

"Aren't you two lovebirds coming?" B-15 suddenly called from the other end of the room.

Loki and Sylvie walked a little too quickly, trying to remain cool and collected despite the burning in their cheeks.

"There is something not quite right about this picture." Loki said dramatically, "I see plenty of kindling but no flames, not a single wisp of smoke. Where's the fire at Mobius? I thought the TVA would be nothing but ashes by now."

Mobius smirked, "I thought you were a big metaphor guy, we destroyed the dogma, that's not enough for you? You really need to set fire to everything don't you, you little pyromaniac."

"Good to see you too my friend."

The doors to the time theatre opened. Sylvie walked in, Tommy's hand clutched in hers as he stared at the room with wide eyes. Dwarfed by his surroundings he stayed close to her side. They were very closely followed by Wanda and Billy and a TVA judge. Extra chairs had been brought in, and once they were all seated the judge began to speak.

"We have reviewed the files and considered the material. We have come to the conclusion that it is acceptable for you all to reside on earth 199999. The conditions of this are that you may not travel between timelines or across the multiverse. Any more disruption to the natural flow of time will result in your immediate arrest."

"So you are letting us go?" Wanda said with a mixture of relief and disbelief.

"Yes we are." Mobius said gently, "You are all free to go."

The judge nodded, stood up and left. Muttering, "What have we come to? Letting all these variants loose?"

"All of us?" Loki repeated, "Including Sylvie and I?"

Mobius smiled, "If that's what you want Loki."

Loki looked across to Sylvie, saw her blue gaze already directed at him. "What say you, Sylvie? Shall we go off in search of a new glorious purpose?"

"What would we even do?" Sylvie asked, she didn't even know where to begin with all of this.

"Visit places that aren't facing imminent doom." He replied. He saw Mobius leading Wanda and her children to the door. "Maybe we can drag Mobius along to ride a jet ski."
