Part Nine

Valerie P.O.V
*phone rings*
I had just finished cleaning the house when I heard my phone ring. I rushed to my bedroom to pick up my phone. It was John. John was a friend from university with that. We had been close friends for a while and decided to further our relationship recently. I was fine with moving closer to him but it had to be in the best interest for me and Tamera.

"Hi honey" he said

"Hi " I replied flirtatiously

"I was wondering if you would like to go out tonight. "

"I can't come tonight I want to finish all of the unpacking before I start work. Maybe we can go this weekend if nothing comes up."

"I could come over if you wanted . "

" Err, Tamera doesn't know about us and I think It's too soon to introduce you to her so maybe is not the right time for you to come over."

"If you say so I just hope you would be able to tell Tamera soon."

"Hopefully I will."

*Door bell rings*
I wasn't expecting anyone so i assumed that Tamera had left the keys as usual. Not wanting Tamera to overhear me and John's conversation I had to end it.

"John I have to go I'll call you back. " i rushed him of not waiting for a response

I opened the door and to my surprise it was not Tamera.

"Derek. How did you find me?"

"Wasn't that hard. £50 after I called I had your address."

"Just go away I don't want you here." I shouted

"Valerie, I've changed."

"Don't give me that bull shit"

"After you left I went and got myself checked out. I want you back."

"No I don't want an idiotic fool like you in our life"

"Just give me another chance"

"Sorry, a little to late already got someone in my life and I would never consider getting back with you."

He was just about to speak when I saw Tamera walking over looking confused. Why now?
"Tamera get inside " I shouted trying to limit the possibilities of Tamera discovering her dad.

Derek turned around curious to see his daughter after twelve years.

"Tamera? Is it you. It's been so long."

"Who are you" Tamera asked

"I'm your dad" he said

My heart sank when I realised it was over. She knew her father now.

Tamera P.O.V
"What?"
I turned to look at my mum who gave me a pitiful look.

"You told me he was dead" I shouted at my mum

"Tamera let's go inside and we can talk about this."

"No I don't want to go inside"

"Tamera lets go inside and we can talk" my 'dad' said walking up to hold my arm

"Don't touch me." I said moving away from "You can't just walk into my life and think everything is okay"

"Tamera lets go inside" my mum insisted

"No" I said turning around and walking back up the street. I could hear my mum calling my name in the background but I refused to acknowledge it.
I have a dad.
At the age of five I remember asking my mum where my dad was and she told me he was dead. Now I know if it was it was all a lie. I had been lied to for the past nine years.

I was clueless of where I was going. I was walking when I bumped into a strong figure. A familiar scent of Lynx invaded my nostrils. I looked up to see the face of Isaac. The same boy I had bumped into yesterday. I didn't know much about him but I knew that I didn't like his rude ass.

He grabbed my face and his turned to one of concern.

"What's wrong" he asked genuinely

"Nothing, leave me alone." I said as I felt the warm tears streaming down my face

"Obviously your lying"

"Just piss off!" I shouted pushing past him

I walked until I got to a local park. I sat on a bench and pulled out my phone. I had two missed calls and three text messages from my mum. I locked my phone and put it back in my pocket without checking them. I knew I would have to go home sooner or later and it looked like it would be sooner since I had a headache and it was getting chilly. I allowed myself to relax for ten minutes before I started making my way home.
It was time for answers.

Once I had got to my front door of I hesitated before I opened the door. As soon as I opened the door my mum jumped out of her seat.
"Tamera thank goodness you're " she said relieved

"Where's my 'dad'" I said not interested in her

"He's in the living room." She replied

I followed her into the living room. There was two men in the room. My supposed dad and another man I didn't know. He was dark skin, well built and really good looking.

"I want answers" I said taking a seat opposite my 'dad'

"Ok, after I had you I got married to o Derek. It didn't last so when you where two I left him and got a divorce"

"You where married"

"Yes"

"Why didn't you tell me all of this"

"I was trying to protect you"

"Who's he" I said pointing to the man didn't know

"That's John my boyfriend "

"Why is he here"

"Tamera there's no reason to be rude"

"I'm not trying to." I replied " why didn't you try to find me" I directed at my dad

"I've been trying for the last twelve years"

"So what took you so long"

"Your mum is a good hider"

"Or your a shit finder"

"Tamera watch your language" my mum warned

I gave my mum an unamused look before I walk out of the room and went upstairs.
