Lightly placing Ben on a small, soft bed, Liu stared blankly at the beautiful sight before him. A glimpse of light escaped the curtain and touched the sleeping beauty's dirty blond hair. The boy seemed peaceful just by laying down, his arms resting beside him under a white blanket that Liu placed on him. The hotel room wasn't much of a trouble. The price was cheap like a regular hotel, two rooms with a bathroom that reeks of waste, and a bedroom. A king size bed lied in the center, two chairs on the left side beside the curtain. A light bulb that hung from the ceiling didn't give much color, it was dimmed. Even the cave looked brighter than this, Liu thought. He searched the room for something, anything would do until there it stood, mocking him. Before his eyes, he found a box of cigarettes with an orange lighter.

One wouldn't do any harm... Curiously picking up the box and pulled one cigarette out; he analyzed it with caution. Thinking the brutal consequences that lie ahead, but he was just going to try one. After all, maybe it'll relief his pain. The memories of his brother roaming the mansion carelessly appeared in his mind. How he'd cut himself by accident, how he'd caused pain and suffering toward their parents, and Liu taking the blame. The way his brother acted like a child who was in need of caring. It was him who gave his brother's love, it was him who'd fixed his broken brother. And it was him who'd feed the careless child while their parents were off sea for a job and never came back.

A single flick of his thumb lit the cigarette. He set the lighter aside, letting the smock consumed his being. His lungs could withstand the pain. It was his body after, and he could control it. Shutting the cruel reality before him, he tilt his head upward; staring at the dirty-white ceiling. He'd hoped for a better life. To be reborn with Ben by his side. Maybe, just maybe his wish would be granted.

As his eyelids began to feel heavy, he drifted into a deep sleep with one thought lingering in his confused mind,
Maybe.
