Red’s POV:

That Saturday, I was standing backstage watching my four favorite boys play their show. I hated being backstage, although I got a great view of Luke’s ass. But I wanted to watch from the front like I always do. They demanded I stay backstage tonight though. No one would tell me why. I just listened and did what they wanted, and it totally wasn’t because they bribed me with chocolate…

“And now for a new song.” Luke said. What new song? I get to hear all of their new stuff and I haven’t heard anything new.

“But first we’re gonna need someone special to out here.” Michael said.

Next thing I know Calum is in front of me taking my hand. “Calum what’s going on?”

“Shh, just go with it.” He replied with a wink. “Look who I’ve got guys.” The crowd cheered a few booed.

“In case some of you don’t know. This is Brittany aka Red. And this next song is for her. I hope you like it.” He said the last part to me.

Oh god, this is the I hate you please leave song. They started playing and it was a slow song. Luke set his guitar down, and took his mic off the stand and started singing to me. He wasn’t telling me to leave; he wanted me to stay with him forever. He erased all my doubts about him. He erased all my fears about being with him. I started crying. Luke wiped away my tears as he sang the last line. “Will you be, will you be, be mine?” I looked at him for a second, and then I jumped up and wrapped my arms around his neck.  I could feel him laughing, “Is that a yes?” he asked into his microphone.

I nodded into his shoulder then I pulled away and said, “How could anyone say no to that.” I laughed through tears. He grinned then picked me up and spun me around the crowd cheered and awed, a few booed and screamed no. then Luke looked me in the eyes and brought me down to his level and kissed me.

He kissed me so sweetly. But then I started to worry. What if we didn’t last? What if this was just a publicity stunt? Luke pulled back and hugged me. He whispered in my ear, “I can feel you overthinking it.” He pulled away and looked at the crowd. “Thank you everyone for coming hope you enjoyed the show.” The other boys came up and stood beside us. Luke and Ashton were on one side of me and Calum and Michael were on my other side. We all bowed. Then Luke slung his arm around me and walked me backstage.

“So how is it that y’all pulled this off without me finding out?” I asked. They all just smiled awkwardly. I started to worry. “Oh no. was that not real? Was that like a publicity stunt? Did you just want your fans to leave you-” Luke’s lips were on mine.

“So that’s what you were thinking on stage?” He smirked. Then it fell and he looked sad, “why would you think that I’d joke about this with you?”

The other boys tiptoed out of the greenroom. “Why would you even want me?”

“Did you not listen to the song?” he looked hurt. “I told you why. Because you don’t treat me differently because I’m famous. Because the day I met you, you talked about me like I was an angel. Because you cry at sweet parts in movies. Because when you want something, you stick your lip out. When you’re nervous you bite your lip like you are now.” I pushed my lip out from between my teeth and he chuckled. “Because I need you. You’re the only one I’ve ever heard when I’m mad. I want you because you could never be anyone but yourself. You don’t change for anyone or and thing. You’re just you. And you’re the only one I want.” I could feel my eyes watering and I could feel my ugly cry face forming. He laughed, “See, you cry at the sweet part.”
