Morning service is already over and as always my parents were talking to people as if they never want to leave. Good thing is I'm riding with Liz and I also have to attend a youth meeting right about now.
I look around and everyone is in a little group chatting to each other.
"Girl" I hear a voice from behind me say
"Girl, I've been looking for you. Didn't kow you were back" I say to her as I hug her tightly
"I came last night and I was very tired so I didn't stop by your house"
"How was it?"
"You know what it's like visiting family. Tiring. Annoying with a little bit of fun"
"I'm glad to hear that" I say as we both laugh
"How have you been though?" I ask
"I've been good"
"Yeah. I could tell" I joke
Jane has been one of my closest friends ever since I came to the church, she's 21 and her sarcastic personality matches her 5"7 athletic figure perfectly.
"Gather 'round people" Pastor Scott says right when I was about to continue my conversation with Jane.
"Y'all heard the announcement, we're leaving this Friday at 9:30 AM for two weeks. It's going to be epic, am I right?"
Pastor Scott asks
"Yeaaah" we all said. Pastor Scott laughed. He went on to give us the details about where we're staying and the things we can and can not bring. The meeting lasted about 30 minutes, as Pastor Scott wraps up the instructions we start to make our way out. Jane is saying hi to everyone as she's been gone for about 2 weeks visiting her family out of state. I'm looking for Liz and instead I spot Sean. He smiles at me as he sees me and the church suddenly feels 100 percent hotter. Now I spot Jane, Liz and Andy, they're all heading outside as I turn to start making my way to them I came face to face with Sean. How did he get here so fast?
"Hey there" Sean says as he hold me so I don't fall
"Sorry" I say nervously
"Have you noticed that all of our encounters have been very awkward?" Sean asks me as he look at me. "Last Sunday we met and you didn't even say hello. On Monday at the park, it seemed that you encountered a monster and you were escaping it. Now you almost killed me by bumping into me." He laughs
I swear everytime this guy smiles the whole world stops
"Don't exaggerate Sean"
"You remember my name" he said , surprised.
How could I forget his name? I've been thinking about that name ever since I met him. I wish I could forget your name Sean, so my heart would stay steady every time I see you.
"I'm glad you do" Sean says, bringing me back to earth. "Are you going to YAS?" He asked
"I always do" I say
"This year will be my first year"
"You'll love it" I say "I have to go" I add. Lie. I have to keep a safe distance from this guy.
"That much you hate me Elle?" Sean ask with his beautiful brown eyes looking straight at me
"Hate is a sin, and I'm not a sinner thanks to a prayer I said long time ago in Vacation Bible School" I say sarcastically
"You're a funny girl" He says laughing hilariously.
Even his laugh is cute. Danger. Danger.
"Well, what can I say?" And as I open my mouth to repeat my lame excuse Sean says "Shhh, let me guess, you have to go?". I nod nervously.
"It was nice talking to you Elle, I'll see you this weekend. We'll be in the same place for 2 weeks, start thinking about excuses because 'I have to go' won't work" He walked away.
We'll see, Sean Taylor. We'll see, I thought as I look at him walk away.
