"We're finally getting rid of you guys" my dad says jokingly
"We will still hunt you in your dreams" Liz adds.
I really don't know how I manage to live under the same roof as two people with the same sense of humor.Today the youth group is heading to YAS, we will meet at the church before we depart to where the summit will take place. My parents -like every other parents in the church- decided to drive us. As we pull up it's obvious that some people have been here for a while now. They probably couldn't sleep because of the excitement. I take a quick scan of the crowd from the car, no sight of Sean. He's probably not here yet.
"We'll see you guys in 2 weeks. Have fun!" Mom says.
"But not too much" Dad adds
" We will, and don't worry Dad" I say as I hug them goodbye.
" Don't have too much fun while we're not here either" Liz says eyeing Dad.
As we approach the crowd I spot Jane and Olivia chatting, I motion Liz and we head toward them. I think about 40 young people registered for this event and we're supposed to leave at 9:30, right now people are just greeting each other. Liz and I talked to Jane and Olivia for a while then Jane went with Pastor Scott to help with a couple things she's one of the youth leaders. Then Andy came for Liz and they went somewhere. So Olivia and I are were left alone and we started talking about all the things we will be doing and learning at the Summit.
After a while I excused myself to go to the bathroom and as I walk there I saw Sean with a group of people and he waved at me. I smiled back. He's here. I know nothing has happened between Sean and I yet because I have been purposefully avoiding him. I still can't help but feel attracted to him which is the reason why I'm staying away. I try to finish quickly in the bathroom because we should be leaving soon. When I got out I saw the last person get into the bus so I did a little run so I can get in right behind her. When I get into the bus I gave a look around and saw Liz sitting with Andy, Olivia is with Jane and the only remaining seat is the one next to..... oh no Sean. I have no choice, as I walk straight to where he's sitting he gives me a quick grin, gosh I could pass out right about now.
"I thought you weren't going" Sean says
Why would he think that? "I am" I said, taking another look around the bus. Is this really the last seat left?
"Don't worry, you can sit next to me. I don't bite."
"Elle, are you gonna sit?" Pastor Scott says, "it's time for us to leave"
"Yeah" I say while I hesitantly take the seat next to Sean. I sigh
"Enjoy the two hour drive" the driver said
2 hours?. This is going to be a long drive I thought taking a quick glimpse at Sean.
