Question: What do ladybug and Chat Noir say in this picture?
⁇
Saturday had arrived... The day that Kitty section always played on the boat of Luka and Juleka. Adrien would normally be enthusiastic because he was able to spend time with his friends but he was now doubting if his father would let him go.
It had already been hard to get him to join his friends to play some music in the first place but he had agreed because it was indeed good for him to also learn to play with others.
But now... Adrien wondered if it would be too much to ask his father to also let him play today because he had already allowed him to leave the day before.
Adrien had to ask... He wanted to go so badly.
So he made his way downstairs, towards his father's office, and knocked on the door.
He went almost every week so why would it be a problem now? Adrien tried to calm himself. He had to practice piano today anyway, so why couldn't he practice this way?
Adrien had just let out a huge sigh when he heard his father murmur a 'come in'. His shaking hand reached towards the doorknob. He was petrified. He knew what his father was capable of doing. A week house arrest? Not allowing him to go to Chloe's party tomorrow?
But he had to try...
"Hello, father..." Adrien greeted his father.
Gabriel's eyes lifted from his laptop to meet his son's eyes before speaking. "Adrien... What can I do for you?"
"Well..." Adrien started nervously. "I know that I went to the swimming pool yesterday and I'm really grateful for that, but you know that every Saturday my friends and I play music together, right?"
Gabriel simply nodded, not showing any signs of emotion. Adrien didn't know if that was a good thing or not.
"I was wondering if I could go? I know that I have piano practice planned for that time today, but technically this way I would also be rehearsing."
Gabriel seemed to contemplate the question for a few moments and Adrien was smiling with joy when his father nodded. "I guess that you're right. You can go."
"Thank you, father! And I can go to Chloe's party tomorrow too? She invited me yesterday. I know that it's a lot-"
"Yes, I want to keep our relationship with the Bourgeois family in good shape."
Adrien nodded, trying to restrain his enthusiasm. "Thank you, father. For your time and for letting me go."
He was about to turn away when his father stopped him by surprising him with his words. "I know that I'm hard on you sometimes with all your duties but I do it for your own future."
Adrien looked his father in the eyes again and saw compassion in them. Actual compassion. "Your friend Marinette told me yesterday that you were miserable and I know that's not good for your future either. So, I hope that letting you have a more social life will benefit your health."
Adrien didn't know what to think. It seemed like his father only did this to keep him alive and not because he cared about him, but he couldn't ask too much of him. This was a great deal of him already.
"Thank you, father, I really appreciate it."
Gabriel nodded in response and Adrien took it as a sign for him to leave. He had to get ready for band practice anyway.
After he had showered and dressed to look decent and not as he had just rolled out of bed, his eyes fell on his paper with notes on his desk. He cursed under his breath because he had forgotten to hide it.
