Question: Who is your favorite ship that isn't in the love square?
⁇
Marinette was barely able to contain her excitement. She was going to have a sleepover with her best friends.
Sure, she had gone to plenty of sleepovers before, but those hadn't been with her closest friends. She loved her other friends at school, she did, but it was just... Different. She couldn't explain it.
Marinette zipped her weekend bag closed before lifting it up and walking downstairs.
Her school day had been boring, nothing out of the ordinary. Of course, that wasn't a bad thing, but she did like some action once in a while.
She couldn't complain tho, the day before had been... Exciting enough.
Her parents' faces lifted up as she walked into the living room, huge smiles appearing on their faces.
"Hello Sweetie, are you looking forward to the sleepover?" Sabine greeted her, inviting her daughter for a hug by opening her arms.
Marinette dropped the bag and embraced her mother tightly. "Yes, I'm thrilled. They're my closest friends and I haven't had a sleepover with all three of them before, so I can't wait."
Sabine smiled softly and Tom seemed to finally shift his attention from the book he was reading. "Hang on... The sleepover isn't with the usual group?"
Marinette tensed, knowing that her father wouldn't like the idea of her spending the night with two teenage boys. "Uhm, no Papa..."
Tom moved his gaze to his wife, giving her a questioning look.
Sabine cleared her throat. "It's alright, Tom. They're all nice kids."
"Why am I getting the feeling that the sleepover isn't only with girls... Are there even going to be girls?"
Marinette rolled her eyes. "Alya is going to be there, don't worry. Besides, it's only Adrien and Nino."
"Just Adrien and Nino? Isn't Adrien the one who you have a crush on? And now you're spending the night with him? You're only 16 and-"
"Why isn't it a problem when I have a sleepover with girls, but it is when I'm having one with my two guy-best friends? I could be a lesbian for all you know." Marinette put her hands on her hips.
Tom was stunned. "Well, I always thought you were straight... Not that it would be a problem if you weren't!" He added quickly. "You're at least bi because that crush on Adrien was too big for it to not be," Tom spoke with confidence.
"Dad, that's not the point, but thank you for supporting me." Marinette smiled. "Us having a sleepover with boys doesn't mean that we would have sex! We're just friends."
"When did this happen?" Sabine questioned, confused.
"We talked a few days ago. We decided it would be better for us to be just friends. Our feelings were too unclear to start something." Marinette explained.
"You can go." Tom suddenly said. "Just, if you were to do something..." and he held up his hand when Marinette wanted to protest. "Just use protection. That's all I ask for."
Marinette laughed. "That won't be happening, but if I were to do something, I would."
Tom grinned and pulled his daughter in a tight embrace. "I love you."
"I love you too, papa." She smiled against his chest.
Sure he was overly protective sometimes, but he was the best father she could've wished for.
