Question: Who is your favorite miraculous character?
⁇
Sadly, the next day there wasn't any time for Marinette to think. School sadly still existed and she wasn't looking forward to it. She knew that she had to face Adrien and she was dreading it, still confused about her feelings for Chat.
Her hands gripped the straps of her backpack tightly, looking up at the school building. She was just staring at it, calming herself by taking deep breaths, when suddenly she was jumped on from behind.
She turned around to see a grinning Alya who hugged her tightly. "Hi, girl! I haven't heard from you since the party. How is my best friend?"
That's when every emotion Marinette had kept bottled up, escaped from her tense body. Tears were flowing out of her eyes seconds later and Alya didn't hesitate to pull her in a bone-crushing hug.
"Let's skip the first lesson. You'll feel better when you have talked to someone." Alya said to her and Marinette knew that she was right. She sometimes forgot that Alya knew her secret and that she could talk to her about everything.
So she nodded, letting Alya lead her towards the park nearby school. Luckily it was as good as empty, apart from a mother who was sitting on a bench on the other side of the area as she watched her children play.
They sat down and Alya just remained quiet, knowing that Marinette would start speaking when she was ready. Her eyes were filled with worry and she knew that Marinette needed her support.
Marinette looked away from her best friend's concerned face before taking a deep breath.
"Adrien came by the bakery yesterday..." She said, finally looking back at Alya, who was now frowning, not understanding the problem.
"He said to me that we didn't get to dance and asked me if I wanted to dance with him there." She sniffled softly, closing her eyes momentarily. "I played our song, Alya. He was so sweet and caring and just so perfect... It was so romantic, but the problem is..." She sighed.
She was about to continue when Alya filled in the blank. "Chat Noir. You like Chat too."
Marinette nodded sadly and Alya just pulled her into a hug again. "I'm so sorry... I know how hard it must be for you."
Marinette smiled against her shoulder. "I'm just so glad that I have you. I don't know what I would do without you." She confessed.
"I'll always be here for you. I'm so glad that I have you too."
"So what do I do now?" Marinette asked, feeling helpless. She desperately needed advice.
Alya sighed. "It's really difficult, but the best idea would be to talk to them both, I think. It wouldn't be fair to start something with Adrien and still like Chat or vice versa."
"But what if Adrien hates me after? And I'm not even sure if Chat likes me anymore, what if it gets awkward between us?"
Alya just smiled. "One, I'm pretty sure that Adrien could never hate you and he's a good guy. He'll understand. Two, I'm certain that Chat will always like you, or at least a little bit. You told me that once that it was pretty much inevitable that you two would end up together, right?"
Marinette nodded. "Right, so I'm sure it wouldn't be awkward. He clearly still likes you too and even though you might not start a relationship, at least the feelings won't be one-sided."
What Alya said, made sense. She tried to put herself in their positions and she had to agree that she would also like to know if her love interest liked someone else.
