Bombay decided to take us to a North Stars game.
"Boy, this is great!", Charlie exclaimed.
'Guys, look, it's the North Stars.", Connie said.
"It's Mike Modano!", Peter said excitedly.
"What's all this for?", Charlie asked.
"It's a little play-offs present."
"Hey, Gordo! Gordan Bombay, right?", One of the players asked.
"You remember me?", He responded.
"Sure, from Pee Wees.", He looked over to the guy next to him, "This guy used to rule in Pee Wees."
The dude beside him said, "Oh, yeah? I heard you were a farmer."
"Actually, I became a lawyer. But I'm coaching Pee Wee now and this is my team, the Ducks. Ducks, this is Basil McRae and Mike Modano."
"We can see that.", We replied.
"Hey, guys. Listen to this guy. He knows what he's talking about. If you ever want a shot, I'll get you a tryout in the minor-league clubs."
They walked away.
"All right, Let's have some fun!."
Averman and I skated around talking about the next prank we were gonna pull and the latest SNL skit. Until he tripped on the back of the goal and pulled me down with him. He got up quickly and skated away. I got up and skated towards him.
"Get back here, Dammit!"
"No need to get angry!"
"I'm gonna get you!"
"Never!"
I caught him and tackled him to the ice.
"Gotcha. We should go trip Bombay."
"Sounds like a plan."
We linked arms and smiled at each other. We skated towards him and slid which made him fall. The three of us couldn't stop laughing. Eventually, we had to get off the ice so they could let people in for the game.
We looked up and the screen said, 'Welcome Gordon Bombay & The Ducks!' All of us got up and started cheering. I looked over and saw Larson and McGil messing with Banks, I looked them in the eyes and stuck my tongue out... They looked pissed. I may hate Banks, but He's a Duck now and Ducks stick together no matter what.
I tapped him on the shoulder, "Hey, I know you might not be used to being on the receiving end of things, but next time I see them I'll make sure to kick their asses."
"Why are you being so nice to me after all I did to you?", he asked.
"No matter how much I have hated you, Banksie. You're a Duck now, one of us. And Ducks always stick together, till the end of the line, no matter what."
"Thanks, Adrian. Make sure to add a few more punches in there for all the times I was mean to you guys. Just take it out on them, not me. I need to look alive for the play-offs."
"Gotchu, Banks."
The game was over. Bombay dropped Averman and me off at the Park near our houses. We walked across the street to his house.
We laid down on his back deck and decided to look at the stars.
"Hey, Adrian?"
"Yeah?""Do you think I'm weird?"
"Definitely."
"No Adrian seriously, am I weird?"
"Yeah, but so what, everybody's weird."
A few minutes passed he turned to look at me.
"Do you ever feel like the world hates you, and you're just one spec in the universe?"
"Yeah, Why are you asking?"
"I don't know.", he rolled back onto his back.
"Hey, look here.", I said as he turned to face me, ❝ ᴍᴀʏʙᴇ ᴛʜᴇ ᴡᴏʀʟᴅ ɪꜱɴ'ᴛ ʀᴇᴀᴅʏ ꜰᴏʀ ᴜꜱ.
ᴅɪᴅ ʏᴏᴜ ᴇᴠᴇʀ ᴛʜɪɴᴋ ᴀʙᴏᴜᴛ ᴛʜᴀᴛ? ❞
