CH. 14: See ya Later, Coach.

Coach told us to meet him outside the rink. Where there was a GIANT bus outside.

"All right, Ducks! I know you all are probably wondering why you're here... So, guess who got a tryout into the minor leagues!", he told us.

"What! No way, dude.", Adam said.

"You oughta be joking.", Jesse said.

"My Coach is gonna be famous!", Goldie said.

I interrupted, "Wait a second. If you're going to try out for the minor leagues, who's gonna coach us?"

The team got quiet.

"Well, next year, you won't be in Pee-Wees anymore. You guys will, you know, go onto a different team, with other players, and a new coach. So, Why would you need me?"

"I guess you're right but what are we gonna do without you, Bombay?", I replied.

"I'm sure you'll do just fine without me. Now if you can't tell, I gotta catch the bus."

He started walking down the line of us towards the bus.

"Look, don't take any bad dives, okay?", Peter said.

"Just remember, keep your head up, man.", Jesse said.

"Cake-eater.", Adam told him.

"Remember, strength, not concentration.", Fulton repeated what he taught us.

"And for God's sakes, soft hands.", Averman said beside me.

"The Bombay-meister ditching a bunch of kids for the leagues!  Bombay-a-rooni!", I joked.

Bombay looked at me and Averman, "You know, I'm gonna miss you kids' humor."

"What can we say, we're just comedic geniuses.", I replied.

"Alright, Anything else?", He asked before he stepped on the bus.

"Yeah", Charlie said, "Have fun out there, coach."

"I must be crazy. A tryout with the minors. I'm gonna be goin' against kids half my age.", He said stepping on the bus.

That bus drove away, and yeah, I was sad he left...

but I looked around at the people around me, and I knew that I wasn't going anywhere soon.
