"Thea, get your ass home now! I already told you that you were out too late." Ziggy yelled. The phone clicked and the call was ended so I put the phone down and pulled the gate down at the store.

I grabbed my bag and keys, and walked out of the employee exit then back towards my store to lock the gate then made my way to the store next to mine, B-Dalton's.

"Thea hey! Please give me a ride! I had to work a double shift and my mom didn't pay for gas so I don't have the car and I really do not want to die tonight." My friend begged making me groan. "Ugh Heather. Z just got done yelling at me cause I'm already past curfew." I told her, moving to the side as a bitchy looking woman walked up to the counter.

Heather looked at the book 'The Wrong Number'. "Fantastic choice, "Heather declared, me nodding along attempting to not laugh. "I love this one." Heather gushed, scanning the book.

As Heather put the book into a paper bag with the B-Dalton's logo on it, the lady scowled. "It's trash." She spat. "Low-brow horror. It's for my stepdaughter." I rolled my eyes.

"You must be fun at parties..." I muttered, making Heather choke on a laugh and the raven-haired lady make disturbing eyes at me. "Uh that'll be $2.95." Heather chuckled, the lady handed her 3 one-dollar bills and roughly grabbed the bag out of Heather's hand.

Heather and I began to flip her off, "Thank you for shopping at B-Dalton's. And, have a nice night! "She yelled after her, both of us bursting into laughter after she was out of sight.

"I still can't believe Matt lets you close the store sometimes; you always leave so early cause of Zig. "She pointed out as she picked up some returned books, making me grab the phone. "I'm gonna call her and let her know I'm taking you home then I'll be waiting in the parking lot." I told her, typing in my guardian's number. She yelled back an okay as soon as Ziggy picked up.

"Where are you, Thea. Please you know how I feel about you being there after dark. "She mumbled, worry very evident in her voice. "Okay Z I am leaving the mall in a minute, but I'm waiting in the parking lot for Heather so she doesn't have to walk home alone at night. Please Z, you know how she feels about walking alone. "I pleaded, trying to get her to say okay without yelling.

"Fine okay. But lock your damn door. And don't open it for anyone but Heather. And check the back seat!" she told me as I nodded, chuckling. "Okay bye, I love you Z." I laughed, "I love you too Dora." She murmured in a sweet tone, using the nickname she told me Tommy used for me.

"Okay I'm gonna head out, I'll see you later. Love ya." I yelled as I exited the store, "I love you too DORA!" she yelled, snickering. I rolled my eyes and made my way for the front. "Have a nice night. "Martin, the janitor called out. I nodded, and said a you too waving bye to him.
