After a month of Sherlock and James' relationship, James thought about taking the relationship further. He sent a letter to Sherlock, asking him to come to the church at midnight later that night. 

At midnight, Sherlock arrived at the church, wondering what James wanted so urgently. James walked over to Sherlock and was acting very serious, which worried Sherlock. 

"listen, Sherlock. I have to say something very important, so don't speak until I'm finished". Sherlock agreed. "I love you, Sherlock and I can't imagine my life without you. I really want to spend the rest of eternity loving you, Sherlock. I know we haven't known each other for very long, but I love you, so William Sherlock Scott Holmes, will you marry me?" James asks as he gets on one knee and holds out a ring. 

"yes, of course!" Sherlock answers through tears. James slips the ring onto Sherlock's finger and they hug each other while both crying from happiness. 

They fall asleep in each other's arms and wake up a few hours later to tell everyone about their engagement. They are both extremely happy and excited, they could hardly talk without laughing.

After a while, they got the news out to everyone, and they were happy for them. 

Mycroft suggested that they started planning very soon. Everyone was very happy.
