Cruel Fate (Gacha System x D×D)

Chapter 20

Haru and Beru reached the monster village in only a couple of minutes. They landed on a flat area with most of the inhabitants training there, along with the Irons. "Iron 4, how are they right now?" Haru asked, de-materializing his PBA. "Pathetic." Iron 4 deadpanned. ".... Anyway, what did they do with the cyclops corpse?" Haru asked Iron 4. "They skinned the cyclops to make leather armor out of it." Iron 4 replied. "Hmm. Alright, keep training them. I will be in my tent practicing magic." Haru ordered the Irons. "Beru, I want you to search and consume various types of magical beasts in this forest. And if you find an insect type magical beast nest, report to me." Haru ordered Beru while Beru was following him. "Yes, my Liege." Beru replied, then flew off somewhere. Haru entered his tent and then sat on the ground.

He closed his eyes and began to analyze his situation. 'I couldn't use skills like Thunder Rush because Advanced Mana Manipulation is locked, but after gaining Jerricks memories, I know how to control my magic better than ever. Plus, I have access to special skills that only the royalties of Dwerga has access to.' He thought to himself, moving the mana in his body around. "Haste." Haru said after standing up. He then started running circles inside the tent, he was almost as fast as Beru. Haste is a skill in the time magic category, the skill engulfs him in a small thin aura of time magic that will make him faster and perceive things faster as well. Jerrick's father teached it to him. He then stopped and closed his eyes, focusing again. 'Augmentation magic usually use mana per second, but I don't have as much mana as Jerrick so I can't use most of his skills for too long.' He thought to himself. "Flame Spear." Haru chanted, then 7 spears made of fire appears in front of him. 'Nice.... Jerrick can make up for his average elemental magic in multi-casting.' He thought, then dispersed the spears.

~Later~

Haru was still practicing his magic, when Beru suddenly entered the tent. "My Liege, I have found a bee's nest." Beru said, standing in front of Haru. "Good job. Lead me there." Haru ordered then he followed Beru to the bee's nest. It didn't take long for them to reach it, since they were flying and when they arrived, a swarm of big bees flew towards them. "Avoid them. Let's go and only kill the queen." Haru ordered, touching Beru's shoulder and casting Haste on him and himself. They flew into the nest and quickly found the queen, guarded by humanoid bees. Beru didn't was any time and rushed the queen instantly. He aimed his claws towards her head, and suddenly Beru's claws had a transparent blue claw on top of it. It's called Claw Projection, Beru got it from the indoraptor. Beru then proceeded to decapitate the queen bee, then Haru used Mother Insect, his little eye holes shined green, making all of the bees stop moving.

'Regroup in front of the nest.' Haru tried to telepathically order all of the bees. After a few moments, hundred of monster bees gathered in front of the nest. "Nice. Now all of you continue with what you were doing and wait until I call you." Haru ordered, then the bees dispersed, doing bee stuff. After a few moments, Beru returned to Haru's side, having done eating a chunk of the queen bee. "Beru, go out of the forest and consume humans next. But don't go too far, and avoid any humans that can endanger you." Haru ordered. "Right away, my Liege." Beru complied, then flew off somewhere. 'I'll wait till the eggs in that cave hatch first before attacking Erboa.' Haru planned, flying back to the village. When he arrived, he turned off PBA and entered his tent to practice some more.

~Later~

The village inhabitants, except children, trained with the Irons until nightfall, and Iron 3 and 4 went into the forest to catch some animals for food then returned. Meanwhile, Haru only practiced until evening then just slept, resting his head on his desk. But before he slept, Haru ordered Beru to spy on Erboa when night came, and inform him if there was any strong beings in Erboa. Haru didn't worry about being assassinated because he got a skill from Jerrick's memories. He is able to sense when killing intent is directed at him, even when sleeping. But, while Haru was sleeping, Beru came back and guarded him after his mission. Haru is actually a heavy sleeper, and curses the universe whenever he has to get up early. Haru slept through the night, then woke up when it was about 9 in the morning. He sat up and stretched his body, hearing satisfying pops.
