The Horror Saga - I̵̦̓S̸̙͊ ̷̟̇T̵̰́H̵̅͜Í̶̖S̷̢͛ ̶̩̃T̷͔̽H̴̙͗É̸͖ ̴̰̕E̵̹͐Ṋ̶̒D̸̺̀?̴̨͑

Chapter 10

Lightning. Oh so much lightning. Everyone flinches and screams, but the only people left on their feet are Lucas, Sabre and Ryan.

"You bitch," Sabre snarls, turning from the nearly-defeated Steves to Alex. "You fucking bitch! Just give it up already, you've lost!"

"I only lost you," Alex breathes, before beginning to laugh. "I can build back up, easily."

"Ryan. Weapon. Now." Sabre orders, and now with a bit of a struggle, Ryan gives him a sword, enchanted with every enchantment he could think of. "I'm sick of you. I destroyed Steves because of you. I hurt my friends because of you. I am not letting you live."

Before Alex can laugh or respond, Sabre swings his arm and in a motion barely seen by anyone who looked the blade of the sword connects with and cuts cleanly through Alex's neck. Unlike the last time such an event occurred, no Steve shouts in fear.

"She will not be coming back." Sabre spits, before dropping the weapon and turning back towards the group. Every Steve who fought now lays on the grass, holding onto their lives by a single piece of string.

"Ryan, Ryan can you heal them?!" Lucas questions, sitting with his hand over Void's shoulder.

"No, don't..." Nightmare wheezes, before coughing. He slowly pushes himself onto his hands, barely able to keep himself up. "Ryan- just get him out of the game. He's done enough."

"Nightmare, you can't let yourself go," Sabre says quietly, now sitting next to him. "After everything you've done, it's just gonna be for nothing?"

"No, not- not for nothing,"

"We defeated Alex," Elemental mumbles. "That's all we needed to do."

"But you guys, you're my friends!" Sabre cries, scrambling to his feet and running over to the other Steves. "I-I've done so much to you all, but I can't lose you! I can't lose any of you!"

"Sa-a-a... abre." Ryan tries to speak, however he glitches out multiple times and simply stands stationary. "Crap."

"Sabre, get him the hell out of here," Illusion instructs, before he also falls into a coughing fit. Sabre stands, shaking his head gently. He watches as, one by one, Steves begin to close their eyes, their bodies growing limp and drawing their last breaths.

"NO!" Sabre screams, grabbing his hair. "No, no I can't let this happen!"

"Elan, there's nothing we can do!" Lucas tells him, holding Void's body in his arms and letting small tears fall.

"You've all done... good..." Void mumbles, finally allowing others to see him weak. "I can... I can finally see Galaxy again..." The Steve, as his eyes fall shut, managed to smile. Lucas can't help but grip him tight, the same way he did whilst saving him from the void mere hours ago.

"Sabre..." Rainbow pushes himself up, and Sabre runs to his side. "Sabre, we'll be okay... we'll be together... in the Spirit Realm... we'll be okay... okay?"

Sabre doesn't answer, instead he grabs Rainbow's head in his hands, resting their foreheads together.

"I love you, Sabre. No matter what you've done, we all love you."

"And we'll rest easy, knowing that you're our friend." Nightmare finishes. "Now please, get yourselves out of this world... before it's too late for Ryan."

As Rainbow and Nightmare both accept their invites to the afterworld, the three players stand. The only Steve remaining, Ghost Steve, stares at his friends.

"It's okay, Ghost Steve," Sabre says quietly. "You can go. Rest well."

"Will you all be alright?" He asks, however none of them return him with an answer. "You're all strong. I'm sure you can make it. Goodbye, Sabre, Lucas and Ryan."

"Goodbye, Ghost Steve." As lighting takes the remaining Steve away, Sabre turns to his friends. Ryan shivers, which turns into a glitch.

"We need to get Ryan out," Lucas informs, and Sabre agrees. From within the three manage to open the pause menu, hesitating before pressing 'Save and Quit'.

The three of them, sitting in front of their computers. Each one closes the game.

"I can't believe we lost them all..." Sabre mumbles, as Ryan continues to click on his computer. Lucas moves over to comfort his friend.

"But we defeated Alex, that's what matters," He says. "They'll all be together and happy in the Spirit world. And if Alex is there too, then maybe she'll finally have the sense knocked into her. But what matters, is that you are safe, Alex is gone, and the Steves are all together and safe as well."

"You're right... Ryan, how are you doing?" Their friend merely stares at his computer screen. He had already managed to delete his account, ridding every save file and detail about his account from existence. Now, his cursor hovers over the button that says 'empty trash'.

"Just do it. It's just a game. There are plenty more." He says, closing his eyes. He takes a deep breath, remembering the somewhat painful and all around uncomfortable sensation he felt with the command block.

Click.

"Done," he exhales, opening his eyes. He takes a moment, before turning to his friends. "I can't feel it any more. It worked."

"Wonderful," Lucas replies, before standing. "What do you say we order some more food? Delivery this time, so we don't have to leave the house."

"Sounds good. I should be able to eat again, now." Sabre responds, also getting to his feet. Ryan goes to do the same, however as he rests his hand on the desktop to use as leverage he slips, barely catching himself with his other hand.

"Ryan? You good?"

"Yeah, I just, must've missed the desk or something. I'm good." The three share a gentle laugh, before exiting the room. As Ryan reaches the door, he grabs the frame to swing, but his hand phases through the wood. He retracts his hand and stares at it, almost letting out a scream as he notices he can now slightly see through it.

"R-Ryan?!" Lucas questions, noticing this too. Sabre goes to put a hand on his friend's shoulder to comfort, however when his hand goes through Ryan's shoulder, all three begin to grow anxious.

"Guys..." Ryan mumbles, breathing heavy and eyes wide. "I... I don't think deleting the game was enough."
