POV: Zoe
Why out of all months, all weeks, all days does today my mom tell me about this? Why didn't she tell me earlier? That would've been better. I would have been able to plan these weeks before College way better.

I swear my last two weeks of summer are ruined. I was supposed to go out with my friends. We planned a whole bucket list of cool things to do before we all go on our own to different universities. On our own to see new faces and make new friends.

Augh! Ok Zoe, stop thinking about it! It's all going to be alright. You're going to be having lots of fun in New York City with your family for 2 weeks straight.

Why did she have to pick all the way across the country?

Why can't I stay home?

Why does this happen?

As I was laying in bed, I was starting to get tired of thinking about this nonsense. I force my eyes shut and wish to fall into a coma for 2 weeks. But of course, that wasn't going to happen at all. I vision myself banging my head in a wall constantly. I feel myself drift into a nice nap until suddenly my mom called from downstairs. "Brandon, Zoe, Nico, Layla!! I finished dinner! Get your butts down here unless you haven't packed at all! Make sure to hurry up because we are leaving tomorrow!" She yells out, making my heart jolt as her yell echoed through my room.

I slowly get down from my bed and walk over to my walk-in closet. I grab the door and push it to the side. I turn to the light switch and flicked it on. All the LED lights glowed and shined through all my bags, shoes, and clothing surrounding the place. I grab my big ass suitcase and placed it down on the table in the middle of the room. I only needed two weeks of clothing. I start to pick out clothing that felt like hours. A couple of tee shirts and tank tops dropped into my suitcase. Fancy shirts, leggings, shorts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, and more things that I'll probably need fell into my suitcase. It was like a pile of leaves were on top of my suitcase, except it was clothing.

At this point, I think I packed my whole closet. I walk out of my closet and room and get to the bathroom to pick out my shampoo, conditioner, and other toilet trees. As I picked up everything, I felt like I was gonna drop all the stuff that was in my two hands. Walking out carefully, I hear mom screech, "TIMES UP, EVERYONE GET DOWN FOR DINNER TIME! WHOOP! WHOOP!" I was actually starting to get hungry so I hurried up so I can get there to see what she has made.

"I made seafood tonight! We got salmon, shrimp, and scallops. I figured since you're not too happy about going to New York City for two weeks I made your favorite dinner!" My mom says sweetly. I can never stay mad at my mom for longer than an hour. She always has something up her sleeve to make it up to me.

"Thanks, Mom, looks amazing." I can't lie it smells so good. I grab a dish and take everything I saw. I got some delicious salmon, shrimp, and scallops. #bestmealever. But something unusual seemed off. Usually, I'm at the dinner table first but this time I'm last. Brandon, Nico, and Layla are all almost finished whereas I just sat down. "Is it me or am I always first to the dinner table and all of a sudden everyone is here before me!" I rant to everyone.

"Well, you've been really lazy and you stay in your room most of the time. I guess you take forever to do things too. That would include walking, I suppose." Brandon chimes in.

"Actually for the record, you're always playing video games, and when you're not playing video games you're at your dam football practice or that stupid friend of yours. That's all you ever do! You never spend time with family unless you are told so!"I start to feel anger rise inside of me. "If I were you, which I wouldn't want to be, I wouldn't say anything!" I yell back angrily. I feel myself breathing quickly. I guess I've used a lot of energy yelling at my brother.

"There's no need to yell Zoe! And Brandon, what you said was uncalled for. There was no reason to say anything." Dad says breaking the fight. "Thank you, hun. Listen to your father, there's no reason to yell or fight so let's try and have a nice family dinner please?" Moms says looking directly at Brandon and me.

I sigh. This is the part where I would have to apologize. Sometimes I sound like I'm sucking up to my Mom. "Ok mom, I'm sorry. Sorry, Brandon for snapping back at you." I say with a smug on my face.

"It's fine I shouldn't have said that, sorry," he states acting cocky while rolling his eyes when our parents weren't looking.

"Ugh," I whisper out.

That's my annoying older brother. Brandon Rayson. The 21-year-old cocky brother who got into college for playing football and being so-called "smart". Every basic girl's dream guy.
