I'm baaaack! Shout out to those who commented this ones for you!!
~~~~~~~After spending a huge amount of money on hoodies and other souvenirs, Aria and I began to search for our seats which were right above the starting gates. I had picked them with the hope of catching Chase's eye. As soon as we sat down, Aria's attention was immediately drawn to the group of guys sitting behind us.
There were four of them, they looked to be about our age, and were actually pretty attractive. One of them was your classic California surfer with blond hair and blue eyes, two of them looked to be twins, with dark green eyes and black hair, and the last boy had dark brown hair and brown eyes. The one with blond hair started to chat Aria up, and the other three soon joined in. Aria nudged me to join, so I reluctantly did, pulling myself away from staring down the gates. "Hi guys!"
"Whatsup?" The one with dark brown hair asked.
"Just waiting for the races to start" I replied easily. I didn't really want to talk to them, but I didn't want to be rude either. Besides, Aria was sort of hitting it off with the surfer dude. "Are you guys excited?" I asked the group.
"Hell yeah!" The twins exclaimed at the exact same time, rather creepily may I add. "We love Supercross".
"Me too, this is my first time watching in person though!" I said. I was going to carry on the conversation when I heard the roar of a bike and I instantly turned to face the gates. Surprisingly, so did Aria. It was just the 250s, so no chance of locking eyes with Chase, but maybe I would see Austin again. The more I thought about it, the more I realized he was Arias exact type: blue eyes, charming smile, and messy brown hair. I was describing both him and every guy Aria has ever liked. If I ever got the chance, I would try and set them up. Then again, who I am kidding? I'm never going to speak to any of them ever again...
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Aria begin too blush, and followed her gaze to see Austin Forkner waving at us. I blinked multiple times to make sure I wasn't seeing things, before gasping and waving back. Aria nudged me, and whispered "Isn't that the guy you ran into earlier? He seems so much cuter now..." I knew she would like him.
"It is, funny though he seems super interested in you" I whispered back. "You should yell good luck to him!" She looked at me like I was insane, so I gave her a shove and dared her.
Next thing I know she screamed at him, "Good luck hottie!!". Everyone within a 10 foot radius turned and stared, and Austin blushed before winking at her and walking over to his bike. "Holy shit Liv I can't believe I actually did that" she whispered to me.
"I think it's a little late for whispers Ari... I'm proud of you though that was badass! A lasting impression for sure" I reassured her. "Hey maybe you can yell at him next time he lines up too. You can be screaming fan girl number one" I joked.
"Liv this is so embarrassing, he's so hot and I just made a fool of myself."
"Shhhh it's okay just watch the heat race." With that we were silent until the first group of 250s began racing. "Oh look at Austin he's out front! Damn you must be his good luck charm!" I told her but she was too focused to even hear me.When Austin passed the checkered flag first, Ari let out the loudest cheer I have ever heard, I swear my ears almost burst. "Liv Liv Liv he was first he won!" She says to me.
"Yeah he won the heat race, now he'll get a good gate pick! I think it's all thanks to you though" I laughed with her. She looked like a proud girlfriend right now, it was pretty funny. I know I couldn't give her too much grief, cause I'm sure I would be no different if it was Chase."Ugh I am just SO proud of him!" She squealed out. "When does he come back out?" She asked.
"Uhhh not for a while" I told her hesitantly. We watched the next race and then the one and only Chase Sexton headed to the line. He was so focused that he didn't even look up at the crowd, just spoke to his mechanic and got hyped up. I was slightly disappointed but I shouldn't have expected anything anyways. Beside me Aria was daydreaming, about Austin I assume, and the group of guys behind us were forgotten completely.
Chase won his heat race, and just as predicted I cheered very loudly for him.
Then, the second group of 450s began to line up, and oddly enough I locked eyes with Adam Cianciarulo. Oh god what if he remembers me from the elevator this morning when I made a complete fool of myself. I was about to say something to Aria when he winked at me and smiled. My mouth dropped open and it took everything in me to smile back. I wasn't even sure he was looking at me with the hundreds of people seated near me. And then I did something extremely unlike myself, for the second time that day. I yelled "You got this!" At him while pointing. He laughed and pointed at me before flashing a 1 with his finger. My heart skipped a beat.
"Holy shit copycat much!" Said Aria. "Just kidding. But hey I thought you wanted that guy you loved to win?"
"Chase? Oh yeah he won his heat, I don't really know what came over me..." I blushed to myself. I couldn't take my eyes off of Adam the entire race, and when he jumped over the finish line I cheered even louder than before. What was going on with me? I thought I wanted Chase?
The main events passed in a blur. When Austin won the 250s he threw his fist in the air and pointed towards Aria. She almost passed out. Surprisingly, Adam Cianciarulo did the same, but towards me... I think anyways, it is a large stadium after all. Either way it unexpectedly filled my stomach with butterflies. Chase Sexton came second, and obviously didn't do anything special.
The real shock came during podium. Adam Cianciarulo actually dedicated the race, and his win, to me! His exact words were: "I just wanted to thank the girl from the elevator for motivating me to show off for her tonight" followed by a big heart-stopping grin. The interviewer tried to get more out of him, but he didn't say anything else. I forgot how to breathe. I can't believe that after our quick, and awkward, meeting in the elevator he remembered me, let alone dedicated his win to me!"OHMYGOD LIV! THAT DID NOT JUST HAPPEN!" Ari screamed into my ear. "Forget the autograph guy, you need to meet him again. That was the cutest thing I have ever witnessed."
"Can't. Speak. Heart. Melted" was all I could get out. We tried to wait around near the pits to see if we could talk to the guys that won us over in one night, but to no avail. Reluctantly, we headed back to the hotel.
By the time our Uber dropped us off outside, Aria was half asleep. "I literally cannot stay up any longer Liv, I'll meet you in the room" she said before rushing to the elevator. I stayed behind to get a couple snacks from the vending machine.
I was still smiling to myself thinking of what had all happened today when I stepped onto the elevator. I met my favourite rider, literally ran into Austin Forkner, and then Adam stole my heart. Just as the elevator doors were about to close, someone yelled out "Hold the elevator!"
