"Please we are just looking for a place to stay and get some treatment for these harsh wounds for our friend we don't want any troubles" pleaded Gavin. Aiden inspected the men, both of which were wearing hazmat suits and about as tall as Aiden, who was the tallest in the group by far. Landon and Gavin were about 5' 10'' whilst Aiden was 6' 2'' under those suits. Their voices were deep, and intimidating. Aiden spoke up in a frightened tone, "Can we just borrow some medici-" A shot was fired, one of the men blew the smoke off the top of his M4A4. As the bullet was racing forward, Landon picked up the gust and redirected the bullet right before it hit anyone. The bullet zoomed past and nearly grazed his neck. Landon felt a sudden pulse shooting from his wound, whenever he used his power, it hurt himself.
CRASH! Something huge fell in the other room. The men ran to go check on it, as if nothing was happening before. But before they could.. Aiden grabbed landons 9mm handgun and fired, killing one of the men. Gavin chased after the other. His crossbow was ready, and grabbed the M4A4 and any ammo he could scavenge. Gavin thought to himself that this would be a lot harder than his average crossbow. Landon staring into the hospital ceiling, it was covered in dirt and vines. Landon told Aiden to catch up to Gavin. Aiden took off to find Gavin.
In the meantime Landon was stumbling around the hospital halls, trying to find an unlocked room to loot. When he spotted those men he saw earlier standing next to what looked like something on the floor with 2 more men around it. Landon took a sharp turn away from them, hoping that they didn't see him. Eventually, he ran into Aiden and Gavin, standing over one of the two guards that they originally met, yet this time he had an arrow through his skull. They started roaming the hospital again. Landon explained what he saw, there were many enemies in this hospital.
They stumbled into a room with two men, one tied to a chair, and one aiming at the hostage with an M4. Aidan instinctively shot the man with the rifle. Gavin looted the man's body. They must have a lot of these types of weapons, Landon thought while inspecting the rifle. Landon noticed the hostage was a man barely breathing with cuts and open wounds all around his body. He had been tortured, and was barely alive. Landon noticed the wounds seemed familiar, the radioactivity can clearly influence humans, especially whenever it has an entrance.. Like an open wound. Like Landon air power from that infected squirrel, he suspected something similar might be happening here. The hostage spoke to Aiden with shaky breathing, he managed to say something but it sounded like a whisper and it was incomprehensible. Gavin was protecting the door, while Landon and Aidan started interrogating the hostage about what happened. Gavin stayed silent as he watched more guards roaming the hall, likely searching for Gavin, Aidan and Landon. Upon further inspection, Gavin checked the dead body again from before, it has a small map of the hospital, and a keycard. He searched the map and located the supply room. "Hey guys, ima go check this stuff out.". Gavin started to leave the room, "Be safe, try not to run into some of those guys." Landon warned.
Gavin moved upstairs and continued following the map, he learned quickly that the name "Flesh-Eaters" wasn't ironic, as he saw a grill with a human arm on it. I wonder if they spice the body parts with salt and pepper. Gavin randomly thought. He approached the supply closet after narrowly avoided a few guards. As he scanned the key card and pushed open the door, he saw that it was full of medical supplies, bandages, even some foods that weren't human meat. Looks like he had found the jackpot. He couldn't carry it all, but he grabbed most of it and snuck away. There were probably many guards in the building, so fighting wasn't really an option. After he returned to the room of the hostage, Landon, Aidan, and Gavin got ready to leave after rescuing the hostage.
The group stumbled around in the dark through many corridors; some spots did not have lights. It created a tense eerie feeling as they stumbled through the halls with the limping hostage being carried by Gavin and Aiden whilst Landon trailed behind. His wounds had been fixed up a little bit but he wasn't nearly in any condition to walk. Landon continued wondering about his powers. His Landons theory was simply that if an open wound was exposed to the radioactive chemicals in the air, even if it's not a lot of contact, it can impact your body completely, whether that be a good thing, or a bad thing. Maybe it just affected spots around the wound? What else was possible to come from these mutations, Landon has air powers sure, but what else was to be expected. These thoughts lingered in the back of his mind.
The group of 4 took a right at the end of the longest corridor they stumbled into the back entrance, most likely where you would enter the E.R. With slight joy and slight fear of what was behind that door they walked through only to find a graveyard of bones everywhere inside of a chain link fence with an animal sized hole through the side of one spot. As they were walking Aidan and Gavin started arguing again. "We shouldn't keep this new guy, he's probably just going to die anyways." Aidan said.
"What? No way, we just rescued him from blood hungry cannibals, we can't just throw him back!" Gavin argued, defensively.
Landon was too focused on his thinking to take a side in the argument.
After a few more minuted of ambient arguing, Landon snapped back into reality and sided with Gavin.
"Like whenever we met Gavin, we could always use more help..." Landon noted. Aiden angrily wandered off of the path from Landon and Gavin. Aiden wandered off for a while until he heard a faint whimper. He looked around, but didn't think much of it. He continued but the sound got louder until Aiden spotted something moving in the corner of his eye. He took a closer look at it. An injured puppy lay on the ground, whimpering in pain. With multiple wounds, Aiden ran over to notice the puppy, with a gray and brown coat of fur, was tied up to part of the fence. Without thinking, he released the puppy. It slowly picked itself up, but then fell back down. Aidan scooped up the poor dog with his hands, and carried it like a baby. He returned to Gavin and Landon, with his new found friend. "Can I keep him!" Aidan asked, trying to sound like a little kid. Landon inspected the dog. "What happened to it?" Landon asked, concerned. "I don't know, I think thost cannibals were going to eat it." Aidan replied. "Well since we are taking home this random person, I think it's only fair if I can take home my new puppy." Aidan declared. Landon and Gavin didn't argue.
