Radioactive Beginning's

Chapter 5

As Landon and Aidan arrived home, they heard loud noises coming from upstairs. Aidan and Landon rushed upstairs as soon as possible. They rushed into Tino's room where Gavin was trying to help Tino as he was coughing up blood, huge black rashes had begun to develop all over Tino's body.

"What happened!" Aidan and Landon both shouted simultaneously

"I-I don't know! He started doing this right after you left!" Gavin said in a panicked tone

For the next few hours, The three tried giving him different medicines, ointments, and other things they got from the hospital. None of it worked. Eventually, Tino fell unconscious.

"What can we even do about all this?" Aidan asked.

"Why don't we let Bruce eat him!" Gavin said jokingly

Bruce looked up, confused. "You guys look after Tino, I'll set up traps." Landon said

"No! You always leave us with the dirty work. Gavin and I will set up traps." Aidan argued.

"Why do you always try to pick fights!" Landon countered.

Gavin quietly slipped out of the room while they were arguing. Walked outside and lay a bear trap like device, but instead of closing with big sharp spikes, it instead formed a net cage whenever triggered. He baited it with fresh seeds, and some worms that he had dug up along with it. He put down a few more, and then went back upstairs. The fight was long over, and everyone had went to sleep. Gavin too, then settled into bed.

Aiden snuck out to go to the first floor and have some time to himself. Sneaking out of the bed he tried not to wake Bruce, knowing he would want to go with Aidan. He got into the corridor where he continued hearing this conversation between the Owl and Landon but decided to pay no attention to it. As he was going down the steps he heard sounds coming from the first floor so he readied his knife that he had on him and walked faster down the stairs. When Aidan opened the stairwell door he saw a mutated rat that was near the front desk. It was staring into the doorway. The rat scurried away, leaving behind a note. Wondering what this note could be, he picked it up and slowly opened it. Contained in the note was a letter from someone who's name was Jade, it was a small note and Aidan was intrigued. The note said,

"I didn't think it would come to this. When I heard about their plan, I didn't think it could wipe out the entire earth. We need to stay apart while we try and fix all this, be careful." "Can you meet me at the Appliance store? We can discuss it there, we can begin the process there, even though we're just humans, anything will help." Aiden wonders if he should tell landon and gavin. Aiden decided to keep this a secret seeing if any ever showed up to him but until then he headed back to bed.

The group awoke the next morning to find tino still unconscious thinking it best if they go out to find some food leaving bruce back home. Landon spoke up to Gavin and Aiden and told them that he had found an owl last night that could talk so he guessed that it had some sort of powers and that it would be living on the roof. They seemed confused but they had witnessed so much it didn't matter anymore. They set out but first they decided to go back to their ally Ethereals base to see if they have anything interesting in buying. The last time they were at the base they mentioned a gunsmith so Landon was wondering if he could find some ammo since he was running on half a magazine left in his 9mm handgun he also wanted to see if he could find a range to practice his new air controlling abilities. Aiden wanted to see Caleb though he didn't know why and was questioning these feelings. Gavin wanted to try and find a certain healing ingredient but was rather thinking they most likely didn't have it. On the way there Landon asked "So gavin what do you think is wrong with tino" he wasn't quite sure but gavin replied I believe he has some sort of internal damages maybe a sickness causing something. Do you think it will give him powers like we believe that the scratch from the squirrel has granted me my newly found powers.
