ꜱᴇʀᴇɴɪᴛʏ:
I made my way to the sports physician, and opened the door. There were some kids in there already for mild injuries. I went up to the front desk. "How can I help you dear?" The lady asked. "Yeah um, my coach said I needed to get stitches in my hand." I said.

"Go to room 9, nurse Annie will be able to help you." She smiled. I nodded and made my way to the room. I walked in and a lady was putting supplies on the counter. "Nurse Annie? Uh the front desk lady told me to come in here for stitches." She welcomed me in and I sat down.

The lady kept looking at me like something was wrong. "I know this may seem odd, but you look oddly familiar." She chuckled. "How so?" I asked. "Oh you just look a lot like an old friend of mine, her name was Jezebel." Jezebel was my mom's name, maybe this was just a coincidence though. "That's funny because my mom's name was Jezebel." I said.

"Do you happen to have any siblings sweetie?" She asked. "Yeah, I have two brothers. Ones my twin and ones a year younger than me." I answered. "You're Serenity aren't you?" She asked. I nodded in response. "Wow, you look just like your mother, and you're even going to the same high school she went to." I furrowed my eyebrows at that last statement.

"My mom went to Eden Hall? How? Her family wasn't able to afford a lot." I shook my head. "Sweetie your mom was an academic genius, she got in on an academic scholarship. Isn't that how you got in?" She asked.

"No, I'm here on a hockey scholarship, my brother got one, but turned it down. I'm actually here right now because of a mishap, that's why I need stitches." She nodded and then started to work on my hand. She had numbed it first so I didn't feel anything.

"You know pretty much everyone here knows about your mom. There's a memorial upstairs, have you seen or been to it?" I shook my head no. "Nah, all of this is news to me." This must be the reason Rick knew about my mom.

"Your mom was one of my best friends, but when they put the memorial up, it didn't feel right. They put some bullcrap newspaper headline there about how she was apart of gang violence, so people who go up there automatically believe it." Annie explained in anger.

"Have you guys petitioned to take it out of the memorial?" I asked. "A few of us tried, but the dean won't take it down. Maybe you can try, since you are a direct relative, you can probably go after them in court for it." She suggested. I nodded and sooner than later, my hand was a stitched up.

I walked out of the office with slight irritation and anger. The ducks were outside waiting for me. "How did the stitches go?" Dwayne asked. "Fine, I get them taken out in a week." I said walking upstairs to the memorial.

"Hey. Where are you going? The dorms are the other way." Julie said, I just ignored her and continued walking. They obviously followed me to see what was up. When I got to the memorial I looked for the newspaper. "Whoa. Is this your mom Serenity?" Ken asked. "Mhm, and I'm just now finding out about all of this." I  mumbled.

Eventually I found the newspaper and I sat down on the floor to read it. "Uhh, I gotta call my brothers." Was all I said after I finished reading it. Russ then handed me his portable brick phone that he'd just bought.

I had tried to talk to Serenity all day, but it was no use. I felt horrible, but there was nothing that I could do now. When she came out of that office, there was a look on her face I'd noticed. It was a look that I couldn't quite identify, almost a mix of a lot of emotions. We soon followed her to a rooftop memorial.

I seen a picture of her mom, so I knew that she was here for a good reason. Then she had a look of anger on her face when she was reading some newspaper. "Uhh I gotta call my brothers." Russ then handed her his phone to save her from having to walk all the way over to the pay phone.

I dialed the number and waited for someone to pick up. "Hall residents, this is Latrelle." I gave a "wtf" look. "Latrelle, what are you doing answering the phone?" I asked. Latrelle was my annoying older cousin, that always hung around for some reason.

"Aww it's little Serenity. Soo how've you been? Hoeing around like usual?" He joked. "Latrelle quit bullshitting around and put my brothers on the phone." I hissed. "Man, your so uptight, can't take a little joke from your favorite cousin?" I scoffed.

"Put my brothers on the phone now, and you're not my favorite cousin." He scoffed at my last comment. "Fine fine, JESSE, TERRY! Your bitchy sister has phoned you!" I heard him yell. Soon Terry picked up. "Hello?"

"Aye, go to your room with Jesse and put me on speakerphone." I said. "Okayyy?" He said in suspicion. "Alright you're on speaker, and we're listening." Terry said.

"Are you two aware that mom went to Eden Hall?" I asked. "What the hell? No." Jesse replied. "Okay well they have this memorial here for her, and there's an article that says she was apart of gang violence." I explained.

"Okay, read me what it says." Jesse said. "Jezebel Hall, former Eden Hall student, shot and killed. The killing was gang affiliated. Hall was a known gang member." That was all I read, not wanting to go further with the next sentence.

"That's a bunch of bullshit. Mom was never apart of that shit." Terry said. "I know, and apparently some people petitioned to get the article removed from the memorial, but the dean won't take it out." I explained.

"Are there any other newspapers about her there?" Jesse asked. "No, just this one. It basically paints her to be a no good gang member who was shot and killed." I said. At that point I didn't really care about the ducks being here and hearing about everything. Rick has already threatened me about it so it's only a matter of time before word gets out.

"Well how many people know about this memorial anyways? Meaning student wise." Terry asked. "I don't know, I'm thinking at least the whole damn varsity hockey team. Their captain, tried to blackmail me with this false info about mom." I said.

"Okay, we'll talk to dad about it when he gets home. For now, take that article with you to your dorm so it doesn't get out to people." Jesse told me. "I can't. The newspaper is framed and the damn thing has a security sensor on it, so if I even try the sensors will go off, and there's a security guard." I said.

"Well, we'll still talk to dad about it and then go from there. Don't stress about it too much, we know what really went down, and that's all that matters." Terry said. The conversation then ended. I looked up and all of the ducks gave me a look of sympathy. "Nobody say anything about what you just heard." I said sternly. "We won't, it's not our business to tell anyways. You have our word." Averman said and I nodded. Even though I knew the ducks wouldn't say anything, I was still uneasy about the situation. I mean, don't I have the right to be?
