ꜱᴇʀᴇɴɪᴛʏ:
It was now the next day and I was getting ready for school. I peaked out my bathroom door to see my brothers still sleeping on their air mattresses. Once I was finished getting ready I grabbed my backpack and left.

When I turned the corner to go down the hall, I felt my face slam into someone's chest.

"Ah shit." I toggled back, trying to regain my balance.

"Shit Serenity. I'm sorry." The voice was familiar and I looked up to see Luis.

"It's fine." I said. Then I realized that he was walking towards the girls dormitory.

"Going to see Mindy?" I asked.

"No um she broke up with me last night." He said.

"Oh I'm sorry it didn't work out." I said half heartedly.

"You don't have to apologize. It should be the other way around. Serenity I-"

"Luis please not now....I don't wanna start my day off like this. We'll talk later okay?" I said cutting him off. He shook his head softly and we walked off in different directions.
——
School was now over and Connie was walking with me to my locker.

"So Hakeem isn't gonna work?" I shook my head no. He was moving back to California and didn't wanna do long distance so he broke it of with me.

"It was probably for the best. I don't think I'm completely well you know-"

"Over Luis? Yeah no your definitely not there yet." She said honestly.

"Speaking of." She said motioning to Luis who was walking our direction.

"Hey Connie, Serenity." He greeted.

"Hey." We both said back.

"Um Seren can we talk? I-it doesn't have to be now, but maybe later tonight. Whatever's cool with you." He asked.

"Uh sure I'm gonna go to my dorm first and check on my brothers, but I'll meet you at the bleachers at 3." I weakly smiled.
——
When I got into my dorm I seen my brothers slap boxing each other.

"Uh hi guys." I greeted while slowly dropping my backpack on the floor. They both looked at each other and then looked at me. They looked suspicious.

"What did you guys do?" I asked, crossing my arms.

"Well uh you see, Jesse and I were um wrestling and we may of broken one of your picture frames." Terry explained.

"IT WAS TERRY'S FAULT. HE SHOVED ME INTO THE DESK." Jesse blamed.

"Show me which one you broke." I sighed. Terry then walked over to my nightstand and grabbed the picture. It was the one of me and Luis. It was my favorite one too.

I stared at it for a minute and softly smiled

I stared at it for a minute and softly smiled.

"We're sorry Serenity. We didn't mean it." Jesse apologized.

"It's okay. I can just get a new frame. I-i gotta go I'll bring y'all something to eat when I get back." I said shaking my head and then heading back outside of my dorm to go to the football field.
——
When I got there I seen Luis sitting on the bleachers watching the football team practice.

"Hey." I said softly.

"Hey. If I'm being honest I wasn't sure if you would come or not." He chuckled.

"Serenity look. I am so sorry. For everything that I've done to you. You didn't deserve any of it." He apologized. I stared at him for a minute before opening my mouth to speak.

"Why did you do it? I mean everything was going as good as it could get here for me and then your secrets come out." I said.

"Whatever I say, there's never gonna be a good reason for what I did. I was selfish. I thought the idea of being with Mindy was a once in a lifetime thing. Then my feelings for you started to show and I trapped myself because I couldn't decide."

"So you just risked it?"

"I wasn't thinking. At all. Risking it was stupid. I didn't mean to hurt you Serenity you have to believe me on that."

"How do you expect me to believe you on anything anymore Luis?"

"You shouldn't have to. I just want my best friend back. I know that it's gonna take time for you to trust me but please Serenity. I miss you. I miss my best friend. Can we be friends again?" This is where I felt like everything was gonna be normal again. But when you're at Eden Hall, nothing is normal anymore.
