I was waiting downstairs when I looked up and saw her. She walked down the stairs like a goddess. I saw her divine self-confidence. I felt our chemistry at that moment before we said one word. Then came her voice that was always like beautiful music to my ears. At that moment, it was like a sort of bright camera flash went off, a moment captured in high definition that would be permanently seared in my memories.
I think she realized I was in a daze, considering I didn't make out a single word that came out of her beautiful mouth. Her face then broke out into a huge smile that reached her eyes, it was infectious, and I could feel myself smiling back at her.
"Love? You there?" My brain was still mush, but I managed to nod my head. I was at a loss for words.
"You're adorable, my love. Aren't you going to say anything?" Instead, she just flashed that dazzling smile that made my heart stutter and deprives my lungs of air once again.
"You're breathtaking." I managed to whisper out to her. I saw the smile reach all the way to her eyes that had a glow to them now.
"And you are absolutely stunning." She leaned in and kissed me on the cheek.
"Are you ready to go, my love?" I grabbed her outstretched hand and interlocked our fingers.
"I'd follow you anywhere," I said, my thoughts out loud. Then, starting to feel my face heat up, I looked down a little bit.
"I'd follow you anywhere too." I lifted my head, my smile meeting hers. I am so lucky.
"Oh, before I forget. I didn't get a chance to say it last night, but I love you too." She leaned in and gave me a kiss full of love.
The restaurant feels as if I have entered a dreamland, the happy chatter, the fragrances, the easy and natural colors. It was lively and beautiful. The place looked extremely fancy. It had these beautiful lights strung up everywhere illuminated the place to the point of looking magical.
As we sat down, I looked up towards the love of my life. The way the lights made her skin glow, she looked ethereal. You know those photographs where the background is blurred, where the only part in focus is the pictured person. That was her right now. Every other detail of that placed blurred as every part of me focused on every aspect of her.
We ordered our food, and surprisingly it came out fast. As they sat the plates down in front of us, I could smell the delicious aroma of the food making its way to my nostrils and making my mouth water. The steak was tender and juicy; it didn't take much effort to cut it into pieces.
It didn't take us long to finish our meals. Soon we were headed out of the restaurant. We took a stroll down the street hand in hand, talking sweet nothings and enjoying the slightly chilly air. Not too chilly to where you cold, but just enough to where you weren't hot. We were walking through a park that was lit up by these antique-looking street lights. The aesthetic was amazing. Soon we started to hear a man playing some soft jazz on his saxophone. Soon Noor had let go of my hand and spun herself in front of me.
"Would you care to dance with me?" She held her hand back out for me to take.
"I've never really danced before. I'd probably step on your toes." She chuckled a bit but reasserted her hand.
"Take it. You said you'd follow me anywhere, so follow my lead." I hesitantly took her hand, and she pulled me closer to her, and she swayed us back and forth. It wasn't any type of fancy dancing as what I had in mind; it was perfect. She's perfect.
Our eyes locked, and it was like the world had slowed down. Then, finally, it was just her and me. We both met in the middle, our lips connecting in a kiss filled with love and passion. My heart was fluttering, and my head was buzzing.
Something caught my attention, though. I saw out of the corner of my eye a bright light that seemed to be getting closer. I just waved out my arm with no time to think, and I deflected the bright energy source away.
"Come on! We have to leave now!" Noor said in a stoic voice, but I knew she was anxious. Our lives were being threatened. She put her hand up to her ear and started talking.
"We have a situation! We are under attack! Get here now!" She practically growled out the last sentence. I looked over and could see her eyes glowing brighter. She was no longer anxious. She was absolutely livid.
Soon I saw two blacked-out SUVs screech to a stop close to where we were at. Out stepped Zelda, Jasper, Naiomi, Hannah, Taro, Kelvin, and Romero.
"Hell yeah, back up!" I said my thoughts out loud again. Damn, I really have to stop doing that. I saw Zelda shake her head at me as I caught a glimpse of a smile before her facial expression turned back to being serious.
"You both need to get out of here. We will take care of the threat. Hannah and Naiomi will ride with you." Jasper said in an authoritative tone. Right after that, we four hurried into one of the SUVs and took off.
A/N: Hey there! Guess who had an emergency appendectomy? I did! I'm recovering from that, but I should still be good to go to update every week. Hope you enjoy.
