To say Shay was excited was an understatement. She, Dream, and Karl had gotten incredibly close and she considered them to be her closest confidantes. Ironically enough, they were also two of Sapnap's closest friends. Maybe it wasn't ironic at all.

Sapnap on the other hand was definitely more nervous than excited. He paced around the house, adjusting the furniture and decor just slightly every time he passed them. Then Dream would go when Sapnap wasn't looking and move everything again since Sapnap left everything askew.

"Why are you pacing so much? You're making me anxious."

He stops in his tracks. "Oh. Sorry. I don't know."

"Is this about Shay moving in with us?"

Sapnap sighs and takes a seat on the couch next to Dream, rubbing his hands through Patches' fur. "Yeah, I think so. I'm just nervous about seeing her again."

"Probably cuz' you dumped her, right?"

"Yes," Sapnap scoffs, "definitely because I dumped her. It's gonna be hella awkward."

"It'll only be awkward if you make it weird. It's going to be weird for the first few days but it's going to be fine," Dream stands and pats Sapnap on the back. "She's coming today, by the way."

Sapnap stands so abruptly that Dream nearly falls over.

"Tomorrow?"

"Yeah. Why? Is that a problem?"

He takes a seat again.

"Nope, no problem here. Just smooth sailing. Super excited. Super. Can't wait to see my ex and live with her!" He gives Dream a thumbs up.

"Okay, bud. You're clearly having some time copping. I'll give you some alone time."

Sapnap watches as Dream walks up the stairs, Patches trailing not too far behind him. He grabs his keys from the counter and starts his car. He wasn't sure where or what the destination was, but he knew that a drive would help clear his mind, so that's what he did.

He drives around aimlessly for an hour, before ending up at the little cafe from before. I guess I could use another smoothie, he thought. Or maybe he'd try the coffee. He could use a little pick me up.

The door chimes as he pulls it open met with the same gush of cold air.

He walks up to the counter confidently, smiling when the worker turns around, who just so happens to be Rella. Lucky him.

"Hey. Working again?"

"Yep. Back so soon? For another cupcake maybe?"

"Maybe. Might try something new. What do you recommend?"

"I think the danishes are pretty good. And drink wise I like the matcha. And it's easy to make."

"Well, I'll take your word for it. I'll take whatever you make me."

"Fair enough. Maybe I'll ring you up for the most expensive thing we have," she jokes, holding back a laugh.

"You wouldn't do me like that, Rella. Come on now." He picked that up from Dream. "Oh, and do you remember what my friend ordered the other day?"

Rella pauses for a second, thinking. "Yeah. Did you want one for him too?"

"I guess," he shrugs, "he's the reason I found this place— and you. Might as well pay him back for a little coffee."

She hums to the tune of the song playing overhead as she makes the drinks. Sapnap finds himself tapping his foot to the beat, elbow on the counter.

"Would you want to sit with me for a bit? While I eat my danish that you claim is so delicious?"

She checks her wrist for the time but she isn't wearing a watch. "I mean, I guess I can take my break. Though it's not really a break because there's no one else here to cover me. I'll have to get up though if someone comes in."

"That's fine. I just enjoy your company."

They sit on one of the lounger sofas, at each end.

"So," he says as he unwraps the danish, "what are you majoring in?"

"Computer science. It's a good field for jobs and I'm somewhat interested I guess. What about you? Are you in school?"

"I'm actually from Texas but I'm living here with my friend so I'm doing online school. And I'm doing computer science too! That's cool."

"Maybe you can help me because I'm actually bad. Like I am basically failing."

"Yeah, I definitely can." He takes a bite of the danish. "Holy shit, this is so good."

"I mean," she smirks, "what did I say?"

"You were right," he smiles, picking up the drink. "This is... green."

"When I first had it I thought it tasted like dirt, but it's grown on me. Try it."

"You just told me it tasted like dirt. Plus I've had matcha before."

"Just try? It's good. This one is good. Or it's an acquired taste."

He carefully took a sip. It still tasted like dirt.

"Mm," he gives her a thumbs up, "it's so good."

"You're lying. I can tell by your face."

"Yeah it tastes like dirt."

"Damn it."

They both laugh, Sapnap abandoning the green drink on the table as they share childhood stories and random facts about each other. His worries from the morning were washed down with his matcha, leaving him in a much better mood. He hadn't been genuinely happy like this in a while.
