Sun's Fall

Burning gold

Flames dance about

He created life

And will also cause the end of it.

He built us up, intricately, slowly, steadily,

Just for all of humanity to crumble underneath his delicate touch.

Planets orbit around,

Completely different in so many ways,

Whether they're full of warmth, cold to the bone, or neither,

They all came together,

Just to be destroyed by the one they love.

They don't know what will happen;

They don't know that they will be gone one day,

Instead, they simply live in the moment;

Moving around their friend, trying to be closer to him.

The Sun, however, doesn't care.

He doesn't understand.

Doesn't understand that the family he's know for thousands of years,

Truly cares.

And that is why he will destroy them.

In a beautiful blaze,

That will grow and grow,

Until it has swallowed them whole.

And, after that;

He will be small,

Lost and alone.

No one to comfort him,

For he has shown the rest of the universe that he should not be trusted.

He doesn't understand though;

He never will.

Instead, the Sun will forever be trapped in this cold, dead, empty space;

Nothing around for thousands of light-years.

All that will be is himself.

It will happen one day.

We will all die

In the hands of the one who has made us,

Shaped us,

Built us up,

Only to disintegrate, to decay, under its strong, blazing stare.
