TW: Description/mentions of physical bullying

After what had seemed like an eternity, classes for the day finally ended. The ringing of the bell echoed through the hallways as students milled about, the sound of their chatting and laughter filling the air. Molten gold beams of sunlight streamed through windows and into empty classrooms, a warm invitation to any adventurous couples. Fumiko found Kageyama beside the lockers, picking up his volleyball shoes.
"Man, you're so lucky you get to go for volleyball, I'm stuck in detention."
He blinked at her for a second as if processing what she had said and then shook his head, his face darkening.
"Mama's totally gonna kill you."
Fumiko crossed her arms defensively. "It was the teacher's problem! Not my fault she was so irrational."
He shrugged. "Alright then, I'll be in the volleyball court for the next couple hours. Have fun in detention." He waved her off and started to walk away.
"Oh, I will!" she shouted after him, but with Kageyama, she knew he probably wasn't being sarcastic. Great, she thought to herself as she entered the classroom, where the teacher sat expectantly. Just great.
The teacher adjusted her glasses and narrowed her eyes at Fumiko.
"Do you know why you're here today?"
Fumiko resisted the urge to roll her eyes.
"Yes."
The teacher pursed her lips. "I want you to write a page about what you have done and how you will make amends. You will submit it to me by the end of this hour." And with that, she pulled out a laptop and started clacking away on the keys, all the while keeping a beady eye on Fumiko.
Wanting to get the whole affair over with, she pulled out a pen with paper and began to write.
'I am sorry for...'
Already she could feel her mind wandering. The last time she'd stayed back after school was back at Kitagawa Daiichi, after dumping a bucket of cold water on a couple of older kids. She shuddered as she remembered the day; after-school clubs had just ended for the day, and the halls were empty. She had walked in on a couple of older students jeering at a younger girl, their voices dripping with mockery as she cowered in the hallway, listening to them berate her. Fumiko's mouth went dry, and she felt blood rushing through her ears. She was on the floor above but couldn't bear to stand by and watch it happen. Too blinded by white-hot anger to consider the consequences, she seized the bucket of water closest to her and let it crash onto their heads. Drenched, they looked up slowly, faces curdled with anger. The muscles on one boy's neck twisted. Another girl glared at Fumiko, her eyes flashing dangerously.
Hit with the realization that she couldn't possibly hold her own against high schoolers twice her size, Fumiko's heart dropped into her stomach. She stumbled into a run away from them, moving her thin legs as fast as they could carry her. But it was too late. One boy blocked the exit, leaving her scrabbling at his broad shoulders helplessly. All the while, another two girls approached from behind, their lips curling into humorless smiles.
Before she could open her mouth to shout for help, the boy clapped a hand over her lips and used his other hand to grab her wrists. Heart hammering in her ribs, Fumiko struggled against them. She writhed and kicked and screamed into his hand. Fumiko fought with every inch of her being with reckless abandon until finally worn out, left panting and limbs heavy. She slumped forward in defeat as the girls dragged her towards a dingy storage closet and bound her wrists to a moldy cupboard. As if they couldn't humiliate her more, they tore open the seam on her blouse despite her desperate protests, sending buttons sprawling over the floor.
