Jasmine's P.O.V

I returned home. It was a good day! I loved that movie, and I felt so happy that I finally could go out with Lauren and Taylor.

Taylor's mother drove me home at about 8.
While I approached our house's door I saw a car pull up. Its light made it hard for me to see who this was but apparently it was Alexander.

He got out of the car while I was right in front of our house. He gave me a look that made me feel like I had eaten the last cookie! I didn't know what to think. Am I late or he came home early tonight?

I took out my keys to open the door and he stood behind me staring at my keys, avoiding eye contact.
I opened the door and entered expecting him to lock the door but he didn't, so I did.

As expected, he ran up to his room immediately while I went to look for Mum.

She was sitting on the couch wrapped up in a blanket with a cup of coffee in her hands.

"How was the movie?", she asked.

I thought for a while, I was too distracted wondering how many cups of coffee does she drink per day.

"It was fun!", I replied throwing myself on the couch next to her.

I felt my body sinking its weight in the couch and giving me that feeling as if I'm floating.

I shut my eyes and let out a deep breath.

"So.. What is it with your brother?", Mum said interrupting my little nap.

I shrugged while trying to sit straight.

"I don't know..", I replied stretching my arms.
I stood up, went upstairs to my room dragging my bag behind me and decided to sleep early, and my eyelids agreed.

--------------------

Saturday went normal I guess. Nothing special.
I spent it on the couch with my phone glued to my hand. I tried to encourage myself to study but it didn't work.

There's always Sunday for that.

Well it's Sunday, I was doing my homework.
Mum was next to me on her laptop doing some work as usual, and Alexander was out.

He didn't tell us where he was going, he didn't even say 'bye'!
And when Mum stopped him to see where he was going, he simply said: "out"

Out where? To work? To school?
On a Sunday? Where is he going?
You can never know.. He doesn't bother telling you really.

Mum suddenly covered her face with her hands and let out a deep sigh.
I looked at her and narrowed my eyes.

She pressed hard on her forehead and lightly shook her head.

"Mum..? You're okay?", I asked.

She hummed in reply.

"What's wrong?", I asked again getting closer to her.

"I'm just so tired.. I feel exhausted.", she replied looking down at her lap.

Mum is working too much. She works overtime, works on weekends and does housework as well... Work work work!

I held her hand while she squinted her eyes. Then, her phone went off.

She grabbed it quickly to see who it was but it was an unknown number.
Probably someone from work.

"Don't answer that Mum..", I said. "Just take a break!"

"I can't..", she sighed and answered the phone heading to the kitchen.
