"There is a stubbornness about me that never can bear to be frightened at the will of others. My courage always rises at every attempt to intimidate me."

THE FEAR THAT HAD PLAGUED GEORGIANA for years had returned

THE FEAR THAT HAD PLAGUED GEORGIANA for years had returned. The flinching at loud noises, the triple locking of doors, even the quick glances over her shoulder became her routine. Even though the task force and protection detail had assured her that she was safe and that, as far as they were aware, the Belarussio family was not after Ginny, their shoddy reassurance helped her very little. No matter what they thought they knew, Ginny knew more. She always knew more. Even if the family was only after Maddie, the collateral damage that came with that was more than her conscience could bear.

Thankfully the team had been called away on a case to San Fransisco searching for a Zodiac copycat. Something stimulating to take her mind off of her only lifeline going into hiding. Ginny wished desperately that she could talk to someone, anyone, about what was happening, but her time undercover had taught her one thing.

It was always the ones you trust most that end up doing the damage.

To her surprise, the plane briefing was lacklustre. With only JJ, Hotch, Rossi and Derek there, Ginny felt severely under-stimulated. There are no quips from Prentiss to cheer her up, no interesting statistics from Spencer to distract her, just her and her darkening thoughts. If it weren't for her impeccable auditory processing, she would not have understood what was happening with the case at all. The voices of her teammates were all melting and middlingly together, completely indiscernible in terms of the speaker.

She hadn't even realized they were there until Hotch sent everyone from the plane, leaving just the two of them to speak, "Monroe." He spoke up, making her head snap up with urgency.

"Yes, sir?" Ginny responded robotically, quickly realizing they were the only ones left.

"How're you doing?" He asked, taking the seat across from her, "The team's worried about you."
