"Sir, what am I supposed to be searching for, exactly?" the SHIELD agent asked, looking up at him from his monitor. Fury scowled and said "Random storms, world disasters, anything more out of the ordinary than usual."

The agent rolled his eyes, but did as he was ordered and bent over his keyboard, fingers flying.

"Sir." Another agent called, and Fury strode forward. She pointed to the blinking red dot and said "We received a distress signal from San Francisco, California. It's on all frequencies."

Fury leaned over and stared down the distress blip, eye hardening.

"Can you find out who's sending it?" he demanded. The agent tapped a few keys and said "Its Stark sir."

Fury sighed and said "Wherever Stark goes, the rest of the Avengers are sure to follow. Get a team together and we'll be there in three hours. Whatever mess they have gotten themselves into, we better bail them out."

He turned and strode from the room as the order was carried out, agents calling out to each other and over their headsets to scramble a team together. He stepped into the dark hallway and felt-something- standing behind him. With years of instincts honed from training and life threatening situations, he spun around and drew a gun, aiming it between the eyes of the man standing behind him.

He wore a suit, a simple black business suit with a purple and blue striped tie, and carried a briefcase in hand, with cropped blonde hair and blue eyes.

"Hello Director Fury." The man said, calm as ever. Fury scowled and demanded "And who are you? More importantly, why are you on my ship?"

The man smiled and tugged at the cuff of his jacket. "Why, I have power over all things in the sky, the sky itself as well. You really think I can't send this vessel flying into my brother's domain with a flick of the wrist?"

Fury felt his muscles bunch and the adrenaline pumping through his veins gain a booster shot.

"So, you're who, Zeus 2.0?"

The blonde man scowled and said "Make a mistake like that again and I will not hesitate to destroy your tiny existence."

He gripped his briefcase tighter and thunder flashed outside on a clear day.

"I am Zeus, King of the Gods and the heavens. And I am here to warn you."

Fury felt his hand creep towards his gun on instinct, feeling the trigger familiarly against his finger, though he doubt it would do anything

"Warn me about what?"

The man stepped closer, far closer than Fury let anyone, yet he didn't move. This was nothing but a show of fake power, but it was the only power he had and he used it to his full advantage.

"My son, nieces, and nephews are at the place you wish to destroy with weapons, men and fire. I have very few children in this world now, Director, and I try to protect the ones that still remain. If your harm my son, in any way, consider his fate yours. I doubt my immortal nephew will be pleased to hear that you broke his promise to not say a word to your council. Pissing off the God of Loyalty is something not even I am stupid enough to do "

The blonde man's face was carved from stone, and lightening split the sky with brilliance. In that half a second, the man was gone, a rumble of thunder overhead to dramatize the exit.

Fury's hand pulled away from the gun as he scanned the hall, but there was no trace of the man remaining. He stepped forward warily, and when no other divine being appeared to threaten him, he continued swiftly to the council chamber.
