I was sitting on the bed, reading how to cook eggs.

Ah, that reminds me of my mother. Actually, I should check on her.

"Hello mother"

"Not delivered"

"Huh, that's strange." I mumbled.

"Hey, is the wi-fi down in this motel?" I asked.

"It shouldn't be." Subin said.

"Hm." I said.

I wonder if something happened to her...

I stood up on the bed and looked at the window.

In the distance, I saw mountains. Then I saw lighting. And then a boom. Like an Earth quake. The evening air would be soon filled with the smell of rain.

I sighed and walked back to the bed.

Subin looked up.

"Is there something wrong?" He asked.

"No, I'm just thinking about my mother." I said.

He nodded.

"Understood."

"When I was little, I use to be afraid of thunder, so my mother would come to bed and cuttle with me until I fell asleep." I said.

"Hm, yes. I sort of miss my parents." Subin said.

"Why, 'Sort of'?'" I asked.

"Because they wanted me to merry that woman that I haven't even met." He said and closed his eyes.

"Ah, right." I said and closed my phone screen.

Then, I watched the windowsill get splashed by rain slowly.

"Hm, I wonder if this place has a stove." I mumbled.

I walked towards the cabinets and searched for cooking supplies.

I found a frying pan and some vegetable oil. Then, I looked on the fridge raider to search for an egg carton.

Ah ha, I found it.

"How many eggs do you want?" I asked.

"Wait, you're making eggs?" Subin asked and tore away from his phone.

"I mean, why not?" I said and shrugged.

"Um ok, I'll have two. You?" He asked me.

"Yeah, I'll just have one." I said.

"Can I help you? I kinda wanna learn how to cook." Subin smiled sheepishly.

I smiled at him.

"Ok."

I preheated the stove and sprinkled a little bit of olive oil.

Ok, now I just have to wait for the stove to get hot.

When the temperature was just right, I put the eggs in and set a timer for one minute.

The timer went off and I opened the lid. Then, I put the eggs in a plate and sprinkled a little bit of salt and black pepper.

"Ok, let's eat." I said and sat down on the little bench.

I cut the eggs in quarters so it would be easier to eat.

"Wow, thank you." Subin smiled and poked his chopsticks into the eggs. It oozed out and he opened his mouth.

"Dig in before it gets cold." I said and started to eat the eggs.

Subin smiled at me before eating the eggs.
