Gina lay in bed thinking about the events of the day. She had gone on the date with EJ. He was really sweet and she had a lot fun on the date but something about it didn't feel right. He took her out for Risotto. They shared jokes, songs, shows, and talked about life in general. He dropped her off at home giving her a peck on her forehead. But instead of blushing, she just stood there. Instead of blushing, like she had when she kissed Ricky on the cheek when he drove her home from homecoming last semester, she was reminded of Ricky.
The same Ricky who dropped her off at homecoming. The same Ricky who serenaded her when rehearsals were cancelled. The same Ricky who spin hugged her after they saved Ms. Jenn. The same Ricky who thought her hat was good even though it was too big. The same Ricky who was devastated when he found out that she was leaving. The same Ricky who checked up on her when she didn't reply for days saying she was worried about her. The same Ricky who said he was glad she was back. The same Ricky who she poured her heart out to but was met with ignorance.
That Ricky.
The Ricky she had been ignoring.
She turned to her side. All through this semester she had thought that Ricky was the one in the wrong here. He was the one who lead her on and led her to believe that there was something between them. And she had blindly followed only to be met with a dead end. But now this past few weeks she had been in dilemma.
Was she the one at fault here?
Did she misinterpret the signs?
Was she wrong for avoiding him when he wanted to be friends?
She wasn't able to sleep with all these thoughts in her mind. When he fell of that rope and hurt his arm, all she wanted to was go and check up on him. But she couldn't. She wasn't going to be to crawl back to him. She was going to get over him. Which was getting hard seeing Ricky's constant efforts to talk her.
