Ricky sat in the car. His palms were sweating, his hair was scruffy from constantly rearranging it to make it look better and he was anxiously tapping his fingers on the steering wheel waiting for Gina to come. In other words, he was a mess. But, nothing new there! Ricky Bowen was always a mess. Especially when it comes to Gina Porter. Speaking of her, Ricky wondered where she had gone off to. Atleast 10 minutes had passed. Just when he thought she had stood him up, Gina came running down the steps of the school breathing heavily.

"Sorry got caught up with Ms.Jenn. She wanted to talk to me about something"

"Yeah yeah no problem. You are here now right?"

"Right" Said Gina as she opened the door and got into the car. It was just as she remembered it. The worn out leather seats, the ironman bobblehead figure she had told him not to buy but he still did anyway stuck firmly on the dashboard. It was all too nostalgic for her. Funny. Because it wasn't even that long ago.

Ricky started the car and drove out of the parking lot.

"So. . . anything new going on in your life?" Asked Ricky desperately trying to break the tension that hung in the air.

"Not really. But I hear you took a trip to chicago"

"You know about that?"

"Why wouldn't I?"

"It's just we haven't been talking lately... and I just sorta thought you didn't care"

"Ricky I will never not care"

"You certainly never stopped caring. Because that's the kind of person you are ,you... just do that for someone else now" Ricky said his under his breath.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Clapped back Gina as she told she would a year ago which later resulted in her sitting in this same car, the same seat going to the same destination. Deja vu huh? It's amusing how time flies. Who knew that day when they were coming home from homecoming, they would do the same thing a year later, but now as strangers? Time is a confusing thing. You can either grasp it, or let it control you. It's up to the people, which side they wanna be on.

"You know exactly what I mean" Ricky said his voice suddenly unusually cold and body going stiff.

"I actually don't. So please enlighten me" Said Gina as she leaned back into the car seat with her arms crossed and let out a scoff. Whenever things were going good he just had to ruin it.

"You just have to ruin everything don't you Ricky?" Ricky thought to himself angrily.

"You know what my stop is here. Thanks for the ride" Gina said harshly and exited the car. Ricky could do nothing but watch her slip away from his grasp again. They were like magnets. Always pushing and pulling until one got tired of it and pulled away. Life's complicated. But watching someone who you love who may not have feelings for you, just makes you a wreck of emotions just waiting to be untangled. To be finally free. To be home.

I don't know where I was going with this. I just wanted to give you guys something.  It's probably not worth the wait. But anyways, Thank you for reading! I know it's after a long time but we are back! I am just gonna stop trying to be consistent because I always fail. Thanks again!
