*~Chapter One~*
I slowly walked down the long corridor, stopping every now and again to see if I was at the right place. Of course, being the new girl, I got a few stares by some intimidating looking girls.
I stopped at the last room and read the sign to the right of the door, "Main Office". I twisted the doorknob to the left and slightly pushed the heavy door open. I shyly walked in and got a couple of stares from the workers and teachers.
"Well, welcome deary!" A heavy women said. "I am Ms. Jeffrey, I am one of the student counselors here. And you must be," she took a second to look down at a folder with messy hand writing on it, "Luke Owens?" She looked back up at me, to see if she got my name correct.
I softly giggled, " My name is Luck Owens, not Luke." She softly sighs, " I'm sorry my dear, it has been a long day. Now here is a folder with all the things you need," she opened up the folder and pointed to the papers while she named them off, "this is your Class Schedule, a School Directory, and the Lunch Schedule. It says here that you are in the fourth lunch. Your homeroom teacher will tell you the rest of the details."
She quickly closed the folder and passed it to me. " You will get extra stuff depending on who your teacher is. Have a great first day at Middleton High!"
I said a quick thank you and scurried off into the hallway. I pulled my long blonde hair to the side and fixed it into a braid. After doing so, I opened up the folder.
'Where is my Homeroom?' I thought to myself. I started walking while reading the papers. All of a sudden, I walked into someone. the papers flew to floor and I crouched down to hurriedly pick them up.
"I am so sorry!" I said while looking down at the papers. A deep voice replied,"It's not a problem." I looked up to see a pretty average but cute guy. He had brown short hair, brown eyes and a strong jaw line. He reach out his hand for me to grab. I grabbed it ,of course, and he pulled me up. "You must be the new girl." He said with a smile. "How could you possibly tell?" I jokingly bantered.
"My names Luck." I said reaching out my hand for him to shake. "I'm Brett," he kindly shook my hand and asked," Do you need help with anything? Finding your Homeroom?"
"Actually yes, I was just looking for that." I showed him the paper with my Homeroom number on it.
"Oh cool! I'm in the Homeroom next to yours," he said looking away from the paper and smiling at me, "follow me." I did as told and followed him through the many hallways.
Just like before, I was getting stares from people. I'm used to it-- Ive been from school to school for the past 5 years. My mother's job has us going all over America. All people do is stare at you and talk about you for the first couple of weeks, until you become uninteresting to them and they move onto the next person.
So, it doesn't phase me.
We walked up two flights of stairs and took a left. he quickly stopped right in front of me, causing me to walk right into his back. He turned around, "you really like to walk into me, don't you?" I rolled my eyes at him and looked around the hallway-- still confused of where I am.
He caught on.
"Oh! This is your Homeroom," he said pointing. I followed to where his finger was pointing, to see a room with a sign that says "3F 54", "And this is my homeroom." he said pointing again.
"Thank you so much for your help. I would probably still be stuck in that hallway if it weren't for you!" I cooed.
"Its not a big deal," he said waving it off like its nothing, "I'll see you around, Luck." he smiled cheekily, showing off his one dimple. He turned around and walked into his Homeroom.
