*~Chapter Eight~*
I kept an equivocal gaze on the boys face, unsure why he is in the same exact town as I am. The boy had a blissful little smile on his face. He hasn’t changed much-- he gained a lot muscle, lost some weight and he became much more attractive, but thats about it.
We stood awkwardly in the middle of the walkway, a few people giving us weird looks. I don’t blame them, I would do the same if I saw a guy with a strange smile staring at a girl who looks like she just saw something shocking.
“Am I gonna get a hug or do you want to keep staring?” He said in joking tone.
He hasn’t changed a bit, I thought with a huge smile. He spread his arms out wide, signalling he wants a hug. I shrieked in excitement, no longer having my happy energy bottled up inside.
I ran into his arms with much force and wrapped my arms around his torso. I rested the side of my face against his chest, too comfortable to do anything else. He wrapped his arms around me and squeezed me gently.
We pulled away from the friendly embrace, “What are you doing here?” I asked cheerfully while tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.
He peered down at me with a smile, “I was going to ask you the same thing!”
I took a quick glance behind him, “There’s an ice cream shop not too far from here. How about we catch up on things?”
“Sounds great!” He smiled his sweet little smile. Shortly we were off to go to the place where I wanted to go before.

I gasped, “Shut up! You did not!”
He nodded superiorly before taking a bite out of his vanilla ice cream. He was telling me all about how he was the ‘badass’ in his school. He would always do pranks on the teachers, fight the students, and always skip classes. He just finished telling me about the prank he did on the principal. He stole his car keys that were on his desk and stole his car before school was over.“Oh, I did. But thats not all.” He said leaning forward.
I leaned forward as well, intrigued by his story.
“I took his car and drove it all the way to another town. It was about five miles away from the school, and I parked it in the middle of nowhere,” He took a quick bite out of his ice cream then continued the story, “And I mean nowhere.”
I took a bite out of my mint chocolate chip ice cream and continued to listen to the story, “I left the keys in the ignition and kept the car running. I had to walk to a bus station and I had to take it home. It was so worth it though.”
We both leaned back in our chairs, “Did he ever get his car back?” I asked, still intrigued by his story.
“I have no clue, I got kicked out of the school to early to find out.” I nodded my head as I finished the last bit of ice cream.
I placed the empty cup onto the table, “Why are you up here, anyway?”
“Well,” he started, “I got kicked out of my last school and my parents decided they needed a break from me and my troublesome ways, so they transferred me to a different school-- Middleton High School.”
I gasped ecstatically, “So, you’re telling me that my old best friend will be going to the same school as me?!”
He shrugged his shoulders and smiled, “I guess so. Well, until I get kicked out of this one--”
I interrupted him, “But you’re not going to get kicked out, right? Because I barely know anyone in this school and you’re my last hope.”
He placed his hand over his heart, “Wow Luck, I am so honored to be your last hope.” He said sarcastically.
I rolled my eyes and stood up to throw my trash away, “Not only that, but I missed you so much! You have no idea how weird it is to not have you and Kathryn by my side everyday.”
“Yeah, yeah. I know that you missed us blah, blah, blah.” He looked at me with a smirk, so I stuck my tongue out at him childishly.
“You gotta admit, the three of us were the three amigos, the perfect trio, the three best friends that anyone could ha--”
“Stop, please. I’m begging you!” He pleaded.
I harrumphed annoyedly as we exited the ice cream parlor, “Someones a little catty today.” I mumbled under my breath, hoping he wouldn’t hear.
“What was that?” He asked with a knowing expression on his face.
Dang, I thought. “Oh nothing, my dear.” He said with a pleasant smile.
He rolled his eyes as we began walking down the sidewalk, we looked at the surrounding store-- seeing if anything catches our eye.
It was enjoyably quiet, except a few birds chirping and the wind almost ruined the moment. But, it was still very enjoyable.
I smiled as the warm sun shined onto my skin, making my body feel warm.
“So, are there any hot girls in the school?” He asked amusingly.
I widened my eyes and slapped his arm, “Dude, it was only a question.” He said rubbing his arm because of the pain.
I smiled mischievously, “You definitely have not changed a bit.”
He smiled, “Except the fact that I’m a lot more attractive than before.”
I rolled my eyes once again, “You are so full of yourself.”
“What? You are too!”
My face began to feel warm, but not because of the weather or the sun-- because of embarrassment.
I placed my hands over my face as I began to hear laughing, “Aww, Luck! You’re so adorable.”
“And you're so annoying.” I said angrily into my hands.
“You are the one who said you that I am your last hope, so guess what. You’re stuck with me.” I peeled my hands off of my face and glared at the boy. But only to soon start laughing at his statement.
“This is going to be a great school year.” I said as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder.
