My father. Whom I haven't talked to in years. I don't even remember what he looks like

He left my mom when I was two, leaving her alone with two kids.

I reluctantly hit the 'accept' button and walked out of the room.

I wanted to be somewhere private when I talked to him.

I picked it up but didn't say anything as I walked down the hall.

"Hello? Alexandria?" I heard his voice through the speaker but I couldn't talk.

Why was he calling me?

What did he want?

This whole thing.

The money.

Everything.

I thought it had something to do with him because why else would Arthur, a stranger, give it all to me?

But why would Arthur, a wealthy successful man, be associated with my father who was a drunken coward?

"Alexandria... i know you're there" i hear again and i see people were still in the kitchen

I turn and start walking up the stairs.

"Hello?" i finally say

"Alexandria... hi how are you, it's your father" he says and apart of me gets angry

"You stopped being my father when you left us" i state firmly

Whatever he wants, I wasn't going to give it to him no matter what he says.

"Listen Blake-" he starts but i cut him off

"Only my friends call me that" I say and finally make it up to my room and close my door behind me.

I sit down on my bed and hear him sigh from the other end

"Im sorry Alexandria" he says

"Sorry for what? Leaving? Abandoning us? Taking all of our money and vanishing? Yeah it's a little late for that Conner" i practically yell at him

All these years of hurt. All these years of trying to forget are starting to let out.

My mom.

She was heartbroken.

She truly loved him and then one day he just got up and left.

He left us like the coward he is.
