Chapter Three: Someone Save Monty the Python!

Another miserable day for Eren Yeager. Day after day it was the same old routine. Eren hated it. He couldn't wait to get out of this stupid city, to go somewhere far away where he could have a fresh start. It's not that he hated his family or friends, he loved them all very much but... he yearned for something more in life. He felt trapped, like a bird in a cage. He would cry himself to sleep some nights because of his pitiful existence. Or he wouldn't sleep at all. He never told anyone that though.

He often thinks back to the good ol' days of elementary school. Ah, those simple times, where all he had to worry about was what his mom was going to make for dinner and if he was going to finish said dinner in time to watch Arthur on T.V. Though it wasn't all that simple sometimes.

Eren was walking home after school that fateful day. Another day of second grade.

The cool October breeze nipped his skin and the smell of cinnamon and pumpkins floating faintly in the air. It was cloudy that day. Seven year old Eren waddled along in his puffy yellow jacket, glancing at the Halloween decorations that people were setting up and stomping aggressively on the dry leaves that littered the sidewalk. He didn't have any friends, most of the time he picked fights with other kids. They mostly steered clear of him, and thus he was a loner. He walked alone, minding his business. That was until he passed a group of boys huddled together in an alleyway, laughing and kicking something. Eren stopped and stared, and that's when he heard whimpering and crying. He realized that 'something' they were kicking was another kid. He remembered all those PSAs and assemblies his school had in order to 'stop bullying', which only just made things worse most of the time. The teachers did nothing, and all those lectures about "just tell them to stop UwU" were useless. The only answer in Eren's mind was to give those assholes a taste of their own medicine.

Eren looked around and saw a long and heavy stick on the ground nearby. He quickly picked it up, almost toppling over due to its weight. With a primal scream he raised the stick above his head and charged at the group of boys.

"What the -"

The bully didn't even have the chance to finish his sentence before Eren whacked him on the side of the head with as much force as he could muster. The boy went careening towards the ground. Eren raised the stick to strike again when another boy from the group pulled him back by the hood of his jacket. Eren twisted around and swung at him, hitting him in the stomach. The light-haired boy cried out in pain as he keeled over. A third kid lunged at him but missed, and Eren swung the stick around in the air as he screamed at the top of his lungs. The boy that had lunged at him held his hands up and tried covering his head, bracing for impact.

The first boy Eren attacked stood up, "This kid's crazy let's go!"

The three boys took off running in the opposite direction screaming and throwing insults at Eren, saying that they would get payback.

Eren stood there panting. He threw the stick to the side and smiled, he felt like he was at the top of the world. He sure as hell taught those damn kids a lesson. However, his celebration was cut short when he heard sniffling behind him. Eren turned around and saw a small blond boy crouching against the brick wall of one of the buildings that made up the alleyway. He was wearing a pink cardigan with yellow cats on it, though it was now covered in dirt and leaves. He had scratches on his face.
