I had an idea for this a couple days ago
You know how Mare, Dust, and Cross are Night's guards in the castle and how Shattered wants to kill Night in order to kill Mare?
I thought about if Cross was on patrol, alone, at night and Shattered got a hold of her. Shatty would try to get information out of Cross without success. Shattered is only letting her go with a bunch of injuries as a warning to the other Anti-Hero's
