As I walked into the detention area, I noticed that Loki's cell was separated from all the others. Why we needed so many cells, I didn't understand. I could see him pacing inside the cage. He was clearly agitated and that didn't bode well for me, but I was committed at this point. I needed answers from him. And honestly so did everyone else.
"There aren't many people who can sneak up on me, you know," he called, amused now.
"But somehow, you knew I'd come," I stated, making his thoughts known.
"I have heard so much about you, Agent Aurora Stark. Or should I call you Rory?" he sneered.
"It's agent Stark to you," I spat, venom in my voice.
"Oh hostility will not grant you what you came here hoping to achieve," he smirked, sitting down on the bench that was inside the cell. I pulled up a chair and sat down myself on the outside of the cell.
"And how would you know what I want?" I asked him, crossing my arms and looking at him.
"You want to know what I have done with your precious Agent Barton, correct?" he asked me, raising an eyebrow. I tried not to show my surprise and nodded. "Well I can tell you he is alive. He has been so very helpful to me."
"Is he hurt?" I asked.
"Why would I hurt the man who has been most helpful to me?" he asked me, sounding shocked that I would think this.
"You've killed over 80 people in the last two days so forgive me if my faith in you is a bit lacking," I spat sarcastically. He laughed.
"Oh you are just like he said you were. He informed me of your relationship. With very intimate detail," he sneered. I shuddered slightly. I had to remind myself that he had Clint under some spell, so it wasn't really Clint that had told him about us.
"And what do you plan to do with that info?" I asked him, still showing no emotion at all.
"Oh believe me, pet, I won't touch Barton. Not until I make him kill you," he snarled, slamming his fist on the glass. I jumped out of my chair and allowed myself to show fear for the first time. I was hoping that this would work on Loki. "I will have him kill you, slowly, intimately in every way he knows you fear. And then he'll wake just long enough to see how he has butchered the love of his life and as he screams I'll split his skull. That was my plan for the information." I turned and pretended to shake and sob.
"You're a monster," I gasped out.
"Oh no, you've brought the monster," he replied and I could tell he was smiling. I lifted my head and turned back around to face him.
"So, Banner. That's your play?" I asked. I was a little shocked, but I couldn't say I was completely surprised. He looked at me in confusion. I touched my ear piece. "This is Agent Stark. Loki means to unleash the Hulk. Keep Banner in the lab. I'm on my way." I went to walk out of the room but stopped and turned to look at Loki again.
"Thank you, for your cooperation," I told him, smiling sweetly. He looked at me dumbfounded and I turned and walked out, smiling slightly. Clint would have been proud. I made my way back to the lab and as I walked in I found a full on argument going on in the lab.
"What is going on in here?" I asked. Nat, Fury, Thor, Steve, dad and Bruce were all in the room and everyone looked extremely mad.
"Did you know that SHIELD was using the tesseract to make weapons?" Steve demanded, rounding on me. I was floored. I hadn't heard anything about this, and if I had, I would have made my opinions about it known.
"What? No of course I didn't. I told you before, I didn't have much contact with the tesseract other than that first day. Besides like I said, my clearance isn't that high so I assume this is something I wouldn't have clearance for," I sputtered, not understanding what was happening.
