I know that you will never forget me
I know that the moon will shine
And the crows will soar brilliantly
across the air in remembrance of me
I know that you will never forget me
Because my words have populated your mind
And multiplied without your knowledge
Tonight, I was awoken once again
By the unknown entity that lurks in my dreams
So I write to keep it at bay
Or maybe I write to give in to its
incredibly tight hold on me
Nevertheless, I will live my life to the fullest
With the knowledge that my life
has a small sliver of purpose
The moon shines ever so brightly on
nights like these
Maybe it is my imagination
Or a radical perspective
Likening itself to the struggles
Of a socially awkward father
struggling to express to his children
The reality of the birds and the bees
I am rambling again
So I will call on my flying friend
Once again
To ease the suffering that causes
these inkblot strokes
To bleed disastrously through the page
Goodbye again...

Melancholy Dreams
PoetryMy poetry is an extension of myself. Every time I write, I stain the page with portions of my thoughts and emotions. Pieces of my former self lie in the stanzas. What is left is the current version of myself. This is my story, more or less.
