Kabanata 21 | "Why?..."
Katahimikan ang bumalot sa amin at wala ni sino man sa amin ang gustong magsalita.
I can now see no traces of Batangas on where are we right now,pero patuloy parin sya sa pagmamaneho.
Suddenly,I remembered Ate Shiela...Iniwan ko sya at ang kotse ko sa site,at hindi din nya alam kung paano magmaneho.
Kinuha ko ang cellphone ko sa sling bag ko...I was about to dial her number when the man on the driver's seat talk.
"Who are you going to call?"He seriously asked me.
Napakunot ang noo ko sa naging tanong nya...Bakit sya nagtatanong?...Does is concern him?.
Pero kahit ganon ang nasa isip ko,sumagot parin ako.
"I'm going to call ate Shiela,my secretary...I left her there at ang sasakyan ko pero hindi nya alam kung paano magmaneho."I answered.
"Okay,tell her to take a cab...Ako na maghahatid sayo pauwi."He commanded.
"No... I'll tell her to take a cab para mas maaga syang umuwi pero I'll go back in Batangas to get my car."I insisted.
"Where's your car key?"Tanong nya.
"It's here with me."I motioned my bag like I'm telling him it's inside.
I dialed ate Shiela's number but the call cannot be reached kaya ang ginawa ko,I just texted her.
To:Ate Shiela
Ate I'm sorry,I didn't informed you first hand but I think I can't able to bring you back to Manila kaya you can just grab a cab, I'll just pay for your fare... I'm really sorry ate...Ako na pong bahala sa kotse ko.
That is what I texted,and all the time I am typing all I could just hear is his fingers tapping the stearing wheel.
"You done..."He said not asking but more on making himself convinced.
Hindi na sya muling umimik hanggang sa pumarada ang sasakyan nya sa isang hotel.
Bumaba sya kaya ang
ginawa ko tinanggal ko ang seatbelt ko,I was about to open the car's door pero naunahan nya ako.
But unlike before that he would offer me his hands,ngayon hinayaan nya akong lumabas without his hands guiding me.
I just smiled to the memory.
When I am already standing outside his car doon ko lang naappreciate ang ganda ng itim ng nyang sports car na Pagani.
It's so hot to look at,and this car really suits the man who owns it,lalo na't naka top knot pa ito dahil sa mahaba na ang buhok nya.
"Tatayo kalang ba dyan?"I can sense the annoyed voice from him.
Bumaling ako sa kanya at ngumiti.
"Why are we here?"I cooly asked.
I heard his "Tss" saka sya naglakad papasok sa hotel kaya wala akong ibang ginawa kundi sundan sya.
"Good afternoon sir, ma'am" The security guard greeted but he just shrugged it of,kaya ako na ang ngumiti dito.
"Good afternoon din po."I said and continued to follow the man,who entered the restaurant area of the hotel.
Kakain ba kami?...
Pumasok ako saka ko inilibot ang tingin ko sa lugar at hindi nga ako nagkamali na isang magandang lugar ang pinuntahan nya.
The gold,white and brown mixed colors of the place makes it more elegant and fancy.
