It was a somewhat normal day for the Pokèmon that lived high near the top of Mt. Silver. It was peaceful for all Pokèmon except for one, an Absol that lived on that very mountain. The Disaster Pokèmon had sensed that an avalanche would be coming, but he didn't know when it would come. So he took a trip around the mountain to see if there were any Pokèmon that needed to be warned about an impending disaster. Nearing the peak, Absol thought there was no one left on the mountain except him, but as he began to walk back, he heard some light footsteps somewhere near him. A Glaceon approached him, a certain swagger in her step accentuating the air of mystery that surrounded her.

"My, my, what's a snow-white cutie like you doing here? Mt. Silver is home to many dangerous Pokèmon, and it would pain my heart to see someone as beautiful as you get hurt by a territorial Heracross." Glaceon's voice was as chilling as ice could be, piercing Absol's fur coat and sending shivers down his spine. This particular Glaceon, despite her species' meager power outside of their ice, commanded respect in every facet of her being, contrasting the warmth of her words as sharply as night and day.

"There's a huge avalanche coming, starting from the peak, just below this plateau. I checked to see if there were any unevacuated Pokèmon in the lower levels and was just about to depart for an unmarked human village to warn them. Seems as though someone's already done my job for me. Good, I'll need all the time I can get to warn that village before they attempt to hunt me." Absol replied.

"Humans are so pathetic. You attempt to save lives by warning them of impending doom, yet they pin it all on you in their quest to blame someone for their misfortune, blind to the fact that sometimes life is simply unfair." Glaceon speaks, poison leaking from her disdainful voice.

"Indeed, and yet... I save them. Because no one deserves to die." Absol replied.

"There is no point in you saving those people...they are all just so ungrateful!" The Glaceon spat venom in her rough voice as the Absol listened.

"Yes, I know...but I think everyone deserves a second chance even if you don't believe in it...It seems me and you are pretty different." Absol replied.

"You seem to not know how this world works, boy, sacrifices are necessary to survive. If you don't sacrifice someone...it's likely you will be sacrificed instead." Glaceon's voice still seethed with rage.

"Everyone deserves a chance at life. It's up to them to either take it or throw it away. My job is to warn people about disasters. That's all I'm doing." The Absol was visibly irritated, yet intrigued. Who had hurt her to make her this way?

"So merciful. I cannot fathom you. I know the plights that Absols face. They hunt you with Pokèmon born and trained to decimate whatever little thing may frighten them. You spend your life running from those you swear to protect. A monstrous existence, is it not?" Glaceon inquired, finally meeting Absol face to face.

"Perhaps. But it is simply my job. What my very being calls me to do." Absol's sensitive nose picked up on something in Glaceon's fur. A faint, sickly sweet strawberry scent. Absol guessed it was an artifact of a previous trainer, long frozen from her icy body and Mt. Silver's frozen tundra.

"Well, if that is so... perhaps you need a break from your job. Every good worker needs an evening or two to destress. If you are overworked, your performance will suffer as you have. And that's no good. Is it, my handsome Absol?" Glaceon smirked and awaited Absol's response, circling Absol and flickering her tail in delight at the sight of a light blush flashing across his face in response to her compliment.
