A/N #2, Dec. 31st: This time, life has gotten in the way. School has been busy and draining, and even breaks aren't safe from the JROTC's grasp. By the way, I'm in the JROTC. I'm a Petty Officer 3rd Class, with 6 ribbons and a couple of special honor roll stars. But the upcoming academic competition has me studying almost every day, and I only recently managed to procrastinate almost an entire week! But I'm back on the ball with some pseudo-motivation and more lemons! I got a Switch as well, I've got Smash, YouTube, The Binding of Isaac, and Enter the Gungeon. What an amazing series of events! Vaporeon (Aqua) X Servine (Athena), also: Narration. (Ding)

Athena thought back to the day they met as she looked at her lover, staring at the stars. Aren't they beautiful?" He asked. "Yeah, yeah." She said, still lost in her thoughts. "Hello? Earth to Athena! Are you there?" The Vaporeon would be snapping his fingers if he had any. Startled, Athena's eyes dart to Aqua. "Sorry, I was just thinking." She apologized. "You do a lot of that. You know, sometimes I wonder what..." The outside world faded out as she reminisced. Going back to that fateful day she met Aqua, her memories became lucid. Going back to Professor Juniper's lab where she had hatched, she reminisced about her earliest friends. She never knew why Oshawatt and Tepig made fun of her when she admitted she had a crush. But they did. She always felt as if she was the most mature, even though the two kids had certainly grown since then and are probably on some talented trainer's team, but that was besides the point. Back then, she was just Snivy, and the guys, they were... Just kids. And those kids annoyed her to no end.

"Hey, Snivy, come fight me!" Tepig yelled, running circles around her and snorting embers. "No! Professor Juniper said not to fight, we need to stay at our current level! She's already paid way too much for those level reduction pills! She might have to kick us out." She growled back. "I didn't ask to be penned up here! Being kicked out would be welcome. 'Least then, you wouldn't be on my back about being perfect for trainers." He said, annoyed. It was clear that Tepig really didn't like not being able to stretch his wings and fly, but in the end, Athena knew even then, if a trainer wanted him, he would do great. Just look how her Dad turned out. He and Bianca are rocking the world. For the guys, not so much. And Osha was another story. "Level, schmevel! Let's play!" He said, knocking her into the ground with his shell. "Why, you... COME HERE!" She chased after him to no avail, her speed stat just a little too low. After fruitlessly trying to run him down, she grabbed both boys with her vines and threw both of them against the wall, knocking books off shelves and plants off of windowsills. And she could feel herself getting stronger as she looked into their swirly eyes.

And then, only about 30 minutes later, Juniper walked in as Athena frantically tried to remedy the situation. "Oh, come on." She said, a tone of defeat in her voice. "Ooh, busted!" Oshawott exclaimed as if he weren't part of the problem. "Shut up, numbskull! You got her in trouble!" Tepig yelled. Athena sighed and hoped that Oshawott grew up to be a little more mature. But back to the past. The professor knelt down to Snivy's level, took a deep breath in and out, and spoke. "Look, Snivy, I'm not mad, disappointed, or even irritated. I know those two, especially Oshawott's infuriating... self had something to do with it. I'm just exhausted. I spend all this money on food, level reduction pills, furniture, and what have you, just so you rare, exotic, beautiful Pokémon can stay the perfect level for new trainers. I love you three to death, and, frankly, each batch of you little gremlins I am getting to foster, even if it's just for this short time, are my children, first priority, and livelihood. BUT FOR ARCEUS'S SAKE, YOU ALL ARE SUCH A HANDFUL!" She says, raking her hands down her face. That startled the whole three, causing them to jump and land promptly onto their butts. "Sorry. Just... ughhhhhh. Is this what having children feels like? Thank the stars I'm single." Standing back up, she fetches a pill and mug from a nearby cabinet. She fills up the mug with water, and holds out the pill to Snivy. "You know the routine." Snivy takes the pill, washes it down, and shivers as the familiar saline-like cold rushes through her, stripping her of her previous experience. "OK, now for a time-out. Nothing personal, just... Can't keep cleaning stuff off of the floor every day like this." Oh, no, not the Pokéball! Snivy thought. She hated the Pokéball with all her heart. No people to talk to, just a little ball in which you spend hours. Of course you could easily add stuff to put in there, and most balls came with at least a toy or house for some added enjoyment. But Juniper had, just had to use hers as the tortuous bore-o-tronic 3000, which she only sent them to when she was particularly frustrated with the trio of starters she lived with. They all reluctantly went into the balls for a proper time out. "Well, this sucks, but at least I have peace of mind. I'm gonna go crazy if I can't get out of this place soo-"
