As they were climbing the stairs to the 4th floor of the building, none of them spoke a word.
The atmosphere seemed quite calm and unbothered, but something was burning just beneath the surface of that woman's innocent smile. Taehyung couldn't ignore it, but couldn't make up if it were suspicious, or just simply her character.
When they arrived in front of her apartment, she took out her keys and unlocked the door.
"Please.." she gestured with her hand to let him in.
Taehyung nodded and stepped inside by passing her shorter figure. He started examining every single detail of the house. Simple, cozy, and just a little bit messy. The walls were painted of a dark green color and the majority of the furniture was black or dark brown. A corridor perceived him and each side was devided into four doors. Some open, some closed shut. Bright light illuminated the end of the corridor from the right as he slowly walked to which a bigger opening revealed a dining area connected to a small living room from the spaced kitchen island.
After closing the door and following quietly behind him, her gaze scanned his frame yet again. She watched him turn around as he waited for her to lead him inside. Eda passed him, making her way around the table island.
"Would you like something to drink?"
"Just water, thank you." He replied while sitting on the sofa next to the big windows as they exposed a beautiful view of the San Francisco city.
Eda nodded with a faint smile and walked to the kitchen. She grabbed a freshly cleaned glass from her sink and poured some water from the fridge.
While Taehyung's eyes roamed around the small room, his attention fell on some files on the small table just in front of him. Some words and descriptions pooping out from one another.
Obsessive-compulsive behavior, depression, insomnia... she must be a doctor or something.
He thought to himself as he read one of the papers.
Eda turned for a second and noticed how the detective, carefully and almost secretly, started looking through her patients' files. She looked back at the almost full glass of water and thought for a moment.
She then grabbed another glass and poured some water for herself as well.
That should put us on the same level.
She walked back to the man and put the glasses down on the short table. Then took a sip, as Taehyung followed her lead and drank a little bit of his water as well. They both put them down and stared at each other.
After a moment of observing eachother's features, he reached for his pocket, and grabbed the small piece of paper with her address written on it passing it to her.
She glanced at it and reached her hand to grab a hold of the thin white object. Then her eyes dropped on it and reading it and moved back at the cop and back at the paper.
"How do you know Ellen Leott?" He asked as she looked back at him with a blank expression.
"What's this about?"
Taehyung didn't answer as he kept looking at her with an enticing gaze. Eda sighed at that and dropped her hand with the piece of paper on her lap.
"We were old high school friends." She answered while keeping eye contact.
"I found this in her room. Do you perhaps have an explanation for it?" He continued, not meaning to sound explicit.
The woman looked back at the paper perplexed. "I-"

RandomTaehyung stared at her in utter shock. Betrayed. Conflicted. Foolishly thinking it was all real. "I trusted you." Eda kept firm. No emotion on her face. None at all. But in the end, he should have expected it. After a all, she was the one who man...
