XXXIX
James's foot kept tapping on the floor, the silence of the small room surrounding him and affecting him more than he would've liked. He pushed himself back on his uncomfortable chair and huffed with annoyance. His eyes moved to the mirror on his right, knowing very well someone must be keeping an eye on him from the other side of the deceiving glass. He lifted his handcuffed hands and moved them making the chains click with each other.
"Hello?" He obnoxiously howled to whoever might be paying attention on the other side. "Is anybody there? I need to ask something."
After a couple of seconds the door from his left opened and from there came the younger police officer who interrupted his interrogation previously.
"What do you want?"
"Can I use the restroom?" His boredom spoke for him as he dropped his head to one side emphasizing his irritation.
The cop scoffed and nodded before motioning with his head to make him stand up and walk to the door to which James complied with relief. The cop clasped his arm and walked him out to head to the restrooms.
Once out he shoved his arm from the man on duty. "I can walk on my own." He then followed the cop and ended up walking down a hallway to the right where the facilities were located. James hoisted his hands to showcase the handcuffs and eyed the cop with expecting eyes.
The officer pressed his lips but nonetheless took out some keys from his belt and freed his wrists from the tight metallic bracelets. James wailed at the pain and the red marks they had left on his irritated skin and rubbed them before pushing the door open.
"Two minutes." The cop reminded him before James shut the door and sighed finally able to acquit his agony.
Outside, the cop tapped his fingers on his hips waiting for the suspect to finish his duty with impatience. When he was about to knock and tell him to hurry someone's presence startled him from behind.
"I'll take it from here." Taehyung palmed his shoulder with a nod.
The cop nodded acknowledging the detective's presence and walked away. Taehyung then turned to the door and his expression darkened. He waited for another minute until the door clicked open and James came out with an unbothered look until he recognized Taehyung and sighed in exasperation.
"Oh, hell-" he whined before his whole torso was shoved hard against the door contracting his newly sore muscles.
Taehyung pressed his forearm on his neck earning a heavy groan from the man and blocked his other arm from trying to escape his tight grip. When James's legs tried to lift and push him away he clutched his knee on the sensitive spot of his left thigh causing him to let out another loud whimper of pain.
"What?" Taehyung spit harshly. "Not happy to see me?" He hissed and pressed him harder on the door.
James struggled against Taehyung's strength and attempted to get his other arm to release his compressed throat.
"L-let.. me... g-go...-" he stuttered unable to speak anymore feeling all the air being forcefully propelled out of his lungs.
Taehyung jerked him again hitting James's head on the door in the process while he growled in rage. "David Blake." He spoke with gritted teeth. "Does that name ring any bell dipshit?"
James's eyes narrowed in agony. "W-what?"
"Three years ago. April 12th, 2:45 a.m., Golden Gate bridge." He firmed glaring at him from his knitted eyebrows.
