XIIThe two best friends reached their apartment and sat on the sofa.
After a long silence, Taehyung touched his lips and thought before stating his belief.
"I think she ran away." Jimin spoke before him.
His friend did not reply, and kept staring at an unfocused void.
"You're angry at me."
Taehyung let out a sigh and massaged the bridge of his nose. "I try not to be Jim, but this is heavy. You can't expect me to just stay calm, especially after what your boss said."
Jimin exhaled slowly, suppressing all the emotions that were creeping back in after the drive back home earlier.
"We have to find her." He expressed after a long pause.
"I sent the package with the ring for a DNA test. Jungkook will have the results by tomorrow. That way we'll be sure who sent it." He grabbed an envelope and went through all of the information they had on Ellen.
"I have to check something." He then announced, after reading something. "I knew I had to talk to him again, but seems like there's no time to waste... and I won't be doing it alone."
Jimin looked at him surprised. "You want me to be there?"
"Not you." He took Eda's card under all the pile of files they had on the short table across from the couch. "I'll take her with me."
"Who's her?" He asked furrowed.
"Eda Black. She's an ex-high school friend of Ellen. And a very talented psychologist, I believe she will help me." He kept staring at the card deeply thinking.
"How'd you find her?"
Taehyung was skeptical of opening up about everything, since the mindset of his friend could bring him to irrational decisions after knowing that his lover might have had problems. But he couldn't lie to him either.
"I found her address in her notebook, with some others."
Well heck... I lied.
"Oh.." he thought for a moment and continued. "Is she going to help?"
"She just might. I'm pretty sure he's hiding something, so she could be able to confirm it as well."
"Do you trust her?"
He remained silent, and rewound all of the conversations he had with her. "Not sure." He then looked up at him. "But by having her close to me will clear all of my suspicions."
"Clear?"
"She doesn't look the type to lie for such things, but then again, she is a mind player." He contemplated not being able to read her, as a small, involuntary smirk lifted his lips.
Jimin gazed at him while having an uneasy feeling growing inside him. "Was she of any help when you talked to her?"
Taehyung tilted his head at his clever observation. "I never said I talked to her, but nice deductive skills."
"Then let me help." He firmly requested, more like demanded from him.
"Jim, I don't-"
"You can't ask me to sit back and do nothing. I know you're not sure whether to tell me something that might cloud my logic, but I promise... I will control my emotions." He interrupted him with sureness and determination in his voice.
Taehyung poked the side of his cheek with his tongue in introspection. "Can you really promise me that?" He challenged him while assuming a dark and
professional expression.
