XVII
The waiter approach the three of them and quickly took out of his pocket a small device with a digital pen to write down their order.
"Welcome, what would you like to have today?" He politely asked waiting for their response.
Leo stretched his arm towards the small menu on the table and gently moved it with his fingers to get a better look, without changing or altering his posture.
"I'll hav-"
"Is there a drink that may have vitamins and protein inside?" Not allowing him to finish, Eda questioned the waiter with a righteous expression while squinting her eyebrows.
Leo eyed her with no particular emotion written on his face, but gently thumped his fingers on the table as a nervous reflex.
"Yes ma'am, we have a variety of them. Would you like me to bring you the menu?"
Eda thought for a moment while looking to her side and biting the inside of her lip.
"Yeah, that seems like a good idea-" Taehyung tried to speak but was interrupted as well.
"No, just tell what you have." She glowed at the waiter who obliged her request.
Leo dropped his arm on his thigh and pressed his lips forming a resigned yet slightly galled expression. Taehyung noticed it and gazed back at Eda as the waiter started listing all the beverages contained with filing and substantial ingredients which she was paying close attention to.
"We have smoothies with high protein intake in different flavors." He paused.
"What flavors?" She asked with crossed arms and an impassive look.
"Strawberry, cherry, banana, blueberry, coconut, chocolate, vanill-"
"COCONUT?" Her face lit up in enthusiasm. She then turned to Taehyung and lifted her eyebrow. "You weren't kidding when you said it has a variety of things."
"Yeah, I mean-"
"I'll have that." She cut him off again and swiveled to the waiter with a proud grin.
Taehyung frowned deeply at her complete change of behavior.
What is she doing?
"Very well. And for you gentlemen?"
"I'll have a-"
"WAIT!" The psychologist impeded Leo yet again, as Taehyung flinched at her unexpected outburst.
"Yes ma'am?"
"Does the protein shake have milk inside?" She asked with narrowed eyes.
"Yes, yes it does."
Eda heaved heavily in disappointment. "Damn it. I'm lactose intolerant..." she dramatically huffed in forced frustration and bit her lip.
Taehyung laughed nervously. "Eh... I'm sure there is something else-"
"Could you maybe not put milk inside?"
The detective dropped his upper body on the back of the chair in a yet again failed attempt to help out, somewhat starting to get irritated at her weird demeanor.
Leo was staring at the whole scene, he then changed position and crossed his arms.
"There's the option of almond milk or soy milk if you'd like." After the waiter released those words, Eda once again smiled in satisfaction and nodded. "I'll have almond."
Taehyung was confused, to say the least.
What's wrong with her all of the sudden?
The waiter nodded and wrote down her order, finally turning towards Leo and expecting his order.
