Chapter 32

-Akashi POV-

Ryota came, since their game was after this one.
But, whatever he said to Kagami, got Kagami out of his head.
'This game might get interesting after all'

-Emiko POV-

I stretched Kiyoshi's legs, he was screaming.
And tired when I was finished.
"All done" I said. "Now you just have to replenish your nutrients and lie there until the last second"

"Maeda" said Kiyoshi. "Could you stay with me a little longer?"
"Huh?" I asked. "If we don't go soon, the game will be..."
"I know. Just one minute" he said. "Looking at you gives Kuroko strength. Maybe it works for me as well"

I blushed. "What are you talking about?"
"You know" he said. "You should tell him"
I sighed and sat down.

"Fine, a few minutes then" I said. "And, I don't know"
"Why?" he asked. "Are you afraid of something?"
"Not sure" I said. "I don't want to ruin what we have. And..."

"Someone else?" he asked and I sighed.
"Not really" I said. "It's complicated. I have a lot of feelings. I have anger, confusion, betrayal, hurt, sadness... but also, happiness and love... I just... don't know how to express it"
"I think I understand" he said.
"I should go back now" I said and he nodded. "Someone will get you for the last minute"

"Sorry, thanks for waiting" I said to the team when I came back.
But something was wrong...
"Did something happen?" I asked.

"Kagami just entered the Zone" said Tsuchida.
"He stopped Murasakibara" said Koganei.
"What?" I said and looked at the game.

"Hope, I think we might have hope" said Tsuchida.
Kagami was amazing...
He stopped Himuro's Mirage Shot.

Kagami shot a three and turned back before it went to the net.
"Who does he think he is? Midorima?" I said annoyed.
He even stopped Murasakibara's Thor's Hammer...
Kagami was amazing...

"Amazing! We could really win!" shouted Koganei when there was a time-out. "Kagami's too amazing!"
"Hey! It's too early to celebrate" said Riko.
There was a lot of noise from the bench next to us.
Himuro had hit Murasakibara in the face.

When the game began, Murasakibara tied his hair.
"Oh crap" I said. "They might give us some trouble"
"What do you mean?" asked Furihata.

"Back in middle school, when Murasakibara was really serious... he'd ask for a hair tie and tie his hair like that" I said. "When he does that... he really is unstoppable"
And I was right. But even Murasakibara did something I did not expect him to do, he passed...
'Since when do you idiots start passing? You never did that back in middle school'

But we managed to score more with Kagami as a point guard.
When there were 2 minutes left, I went to get Kiyoshi.
"Kiyoshi-senpai" I said when I opened the door. "Hurry up, there's only a minute left"
"Got it" he said and we ran to the field.

"Black, member change!" shouted the referee when we got there just in time for the last minute.
"Why's everyone so gloomy?" asked Kiyoshi. "We're nearly there. Let's go have some fun"
"Welcome back" said Tetsuya with a smile.
"I'm home" said Kiyoshi.

The final minute...
Kiyoshi did an impressive fake.
But he chose to lose, Hyuga jumped from behind Himuro and blocked the ball.

"Yes!" I shouted and jumped from the bench.
Kagami missed his three, but we got the rebound and scored with a three from Hyuga.
We were one point behind, with 20 seconds remaining.

But, something was wrong...
I looked at Murasakibara.
'No way... is he... in... in the Zone?'

When Kagami went to block Murasakibara, he lost in strength.
But with the help of Kiyoshi, they won.
"All right!" I shouted with the first years.

But, the mood soon changed, when Murasakibara sprinted to the other side, countering our fast break.
But Kagami jumped and launched the ball into the hoop.
"What the..." I whispered.

We were finally in the lead.
Only four seconds remained, Murasakibara got the ball and ran to the other side.
He didn't manage to jump, so lowered the ball again, but Tetsuya smashed it away, making us win...
"Yes!" I screamed.

"With a score of 73 to 72, Seirin High wins!" announced the referee.
I locked eyes with Tetsuya, I smiled and blushed.
'I know I told Kiyoshi-senpai that I felt a lot of things, but now... all I feel... is... love...'

I ran to him and he lifted me up.
'He makes me feel all of this... he... he is my home...'
I buried my face in Tetsuya's neck, I was a bit embarrassed. But I was happy... the happiest I had ever been...

"Good work, guys" said Riko. "We can celebrate later. The next teams are waiting. Let's go"
"Whoever wins that game will be our opponent tomorrow" said Hyuga. "Let's head upstairs. The semi-finals are next!"

We passed Kaijo on the way and I smiled at Yukio.
"We're waiting for you in the semi-finals" said Tetsuya to Kise.
"See you soon" said Kise.
"Don't disappoint us, Kaijo" I smiled.
"Wouldn't dream of it" said Yukio.

"Emi" said Tetsuya. "Do you still have Kagami-kun's necklace?"
"Hm? Of course" I said. "I didn't think he'd actually want me to throw it out"
I gave the necklace to Tetsuya who walked to Kagami.

"Kagami-kun, do you have a minute?" asked Tetsuya.
"What?" asked Kagami.
"I'm really mad right now" said Tetsuya with a straight face.

"Why?!" asked Kagami. "What are you talking about? We won the game"
"The problem is what happened after that" said Tetsuya. "Are you happy with what happened with Himuro-san?"
"I can't help that" said Kagami. "Win or lose, we're not brothers anymore"

"Seriously?" I sighed. "Are you all still in third grade or something?"
"That's the promise we made!" said Kagami.
"I agree with Emi" said Tetsuya. "Are the two of you idiots?"

"What?!" said Kagami.
Tetsuya held out the necklace.
"I told you to throw that out, Maeda!" shouted Kagami.

"I couldn't throw it away" I said. "If anything, it sounded to me like you were asking me not to"
"I won't deny how you felt then" said Tetsuya. "But... is it really so difficult to continue being brothers and rivals?"

Kagami took back the necklace.
"Thanks, Maeda, Kuroko!" he shouted and ran outside.
"I think we helped him a bit too much" I said.
"Maybe" said Tetsuya and smiled.
