(Keegan's pov)
I made a promise to y/n that I would never touch her again without permission but that has become very hard. She always does things to suggest that she wants me to but I am a man of my word so I just walk away. Well lucky for me we had a mission coming up that required me and her to be paired with different people so I finally got a small break from the torture. Sadly though that also meant I couldn't protect her.
(On the mission)
I was just about to ask Merrick if he thought the lack of people was suspicious when we heard a grenade go off. As soon as that happened we got rushed by a group of enemies. We both fell back to a better position to fight them at. Well I guess it wasn't the best seeing as Merrick got shot in the arm. I had him call in to the others as I covered him. It seemed like forever before they finally showed up. Thank goodness they did I had just shot my last bullet into a guys skull. So I took the chance to deal with Merrick's arm. It took a bit due to Merrick not sitting still but I finished. Just as I turned around to go talk to the others I noticed an insurgent standing behind y/n. I quickly took out my knife and threw it at the guy and just in time to.

So Keegan you finally are standing up and being more of a team player huh! Well let see how long you can keep it up. I know those of you that are reading this are probably confused now so let me kind of explain. I have been watching Keegan for a long time and when he joined the Ghosts I decided to keep an eye on the entire team. What interests me the most is the fact that Keegan has let a fellow soldier get so close to him. Especially a female because in the last twenty nine years I have been watching him I have only seen One other to get that close to him. Any who I will explain more about this encounter later bye!
(Y/N pov)
We just got a call for help from Merrick and his voice made sure that we knew they really needed help. I was really wanting to get there to help but we had insurgents on us as well. So we did the logical thing and just rallied them as we went so that we could make it to Merrick and Keegan. This was taking forever though. When we finally got to them Keegan let out a sigh of relief and went straight to Merrick to deal with his arm. I took the spot Keegan was originally at because it had he best view for sniping. Once I was fully set up I realized just how many enemy insurgents there was. I also happened to see a cloaked figure way off in the distance.
Choosing to ignore the figure I started taking out as many people as I could. I was relying on the others to get the people I missed. I kept thinking to myself that it would be easy for one of them to get past us since two of us were out of the equation. Despite that thought I kept up a steady aim. Just as I was about to fire gain I heard a body drop behind me. Turning around I saw Keegan looking pissed and an insurgent on the ground with a knife in his back. I was so relieved it wasn't one of the Ghosts that I actually had to have Keegan take over sniping. So I handed him my gun and went to keep an eye on Merrick. I knew that I was gonna be in trouble by Keegan later for this but I couldn't help it. As soon as they were done we called in for an evac so we could get Merrick back to base. Unfortunately Ajacks, Logan and Hesh stayed to finish the mission. That left me, Keegan and Merrick to face the wrath of Elias alone.
(Elias POV)
I sent a chopper out as soon as I got the call for an evac. I was worried and wanted to have a few words with Keegan. I this plan was his idea so I wanna know how things went so far south. I knew it would be awhile before they got home so I went to go train. I also radioed the rest of the team to see how they were progressing. It was about 1800 when Keegan and the other two returned so I decided to let them rest before I started questioning them. I guess Keegan decided otherwise because he came straight up to me and said "lets go talk now." So we headed to the main communication room to chat about the shit that took place. It was getting late when we finally finished talking and I was speechless. Never before had Keegan messed up on a plan that he had the intel for but I mean I couldn't say anything bad about it he is human not some machine designed to do this kind of work. So I just told him to relax and sent him off to go do what ever he wanted for the next few days. Something told me he would just keep working on plans with all the intel he has at his disposal. I swear he needs to learn to relax a little.
(Keegan POV)
After having a long talk with Elias to explain what went wrong I went to go find y/n. I was finally going to be able to ask her on a date because now I have a little spare time. For the first time in a long time I finally get to take a few days to relax (not counting being injured). As soon as I found her I walked up and spun her around. That only got me an angry glare but before she could speak I asked her if should would accompany me to diner. Once I had my answer I walked away to set up a reservation at a high end restaurant. That night I blindfolded her and lead her to the car so she would be surprised about where we were going. See this place had a beautiful view of lake Michigan. When we arrived and she took off the blindfold all I saw was pure happiness. That look of joy was all I needed as far as I was concerned. Any we sat down and talk for hours before we agreed that we should head back to base though I was sad to end it. I am happy she had a good time and enjoyed the lake since it was one of the only places I go to relax at. While y/n headed to the car I looked out to the bright blue water and swore to look after her. Though now that I look back on the moment I realize I was stupid and made a huge mistake.
